Very very nice lady. Talked about appreciation of us, and made some suggestions as far as having a third down "song" we play sort of like LSU had, to get the crowd into it. Talked a lot about how we, with the cheerleaders, were essential to keeping the crowd into things. Interesting suggestions and points and all. :) Dr. O let her direct Yea Alabama as well.

When CNS first accepted the Bama job I doubted his commitment. After seeing Mrs. CTS I decided he was a keeper. If Momma is happy, everyone is happy.

Great story, thanks for sharing. Whether the team is doing good or not, the band is always a bright spot and I am very proud of them.

Thats really cool, i know that a lot of people want Coach Saban to do a lot of things, hopefully Mrs. Saban can take care of some of that list.

Well, felt a learned a lot about the type of person she was when she was out there. She could definitely handle anything I'm sure. I'd trust the woman, no doubt.

Re: Mrs. Saban spoke to the band today.

I recall living in Baton Rouge when Saban arrived at LSU. Mrs Saban was on the radio talking about how excited they were to be there and how they thought the team had a lot of potential etc. I remember thinking "This women isn't the coach...what is she talking about?"

Later I realized my initial impression couldn't have been more wrong. Behind every great man you find a wonderful women. Mrs. Saban truly cares about the schools where her husband coaches and makes a real impact in the way she gets involved with the program.

I once thought this was crazy, but after seeing her geniune love for LSU, the fans, the team and the university...I couldn't help but believe she was really Nick Saban's secret weapon. She is something special.

That's really cool and I love it. Anything we can do to keep the crowd noise level up, I'm all for, especially on 3rd downs. I attended the UGA game and I came away very impressed with the fans participation.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I would LOVE to see this happen. Even though I hate to see it done to us, I still think "Chinese Bandits" is one of the coolest things to see a crowd do.

Re: Mrs. Saban spoke to the band today.

I prefer the old "H-O-L-D HOLD THAT LINE" cheer on third downs myself. Back when I was a student several of us would usually end up starting it in the student section. I shred my vocal cords with that many times.

Very cool. She exuded her classiness from the very first moments in Tuscaloosa. I love the MDB. This past weekend in Jacksonville was the first time I got to hear a stand tune all year long. Very fun to sing along with Yea Alabama.

Hate to fan old flames, but do you think that if Mrs. Saban asked the band to move back to the corner, they would do it?

Re: Mrs. Saban spoke to the band today.

How about this:

Before each play the crowd goes ROOOOOLLLLLLLLL continuously until the ball carrier is tackled and if tackled before the first down marker then every one screams TIDE!!.

Just a thought...

I love how LSU fans get into their cheers....

Re: Mrs. Saban spoke to the band today.

Can somebody explain what chinese bandits are? :conf2:
It's the staggered wave/cheer LSU does after stopping a team on 3rd down. The band will play a cadence while the crowd does the staggered wave. It ends with everyone pumping their fist and yelling "LSU!". It's called "Chinese Bandits" because, if I remember correctly, that was the nickname of LSU's defensive unit way back in the day. The head coach at the time said they were quicker than a group of Chinese bandits.
