overall defense played poorly and the offense made too many mistakes. The future does not look good unless some corrections are made in a hurry.

Other than Simeon, we have a terrible time stopping the passing game. Seeing wide open Ole Siss receivers make big play after big play got sickening.

The future doesn't look great? Why don't you go find someone else to cheer for. Seriously, we have Nick Saban as our coach, one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. The future looks GREAT.

As much fun as Simeon is on occasion, I did see him in the rear view mirror of Ole Miss receivers a couple of today. And UH receivers last week. But his pick was huge, and he does make plays. Bit of an adventure over there though. As for the others, I agree about seeing wide open Reb receivers.

Slim is playing corner only because he's better than the corner competition. His natural position is FS because he's an excellent ball hawk and anticipates wonderfully. His speed is not really what you'd want for a corner and the speedier receivers can blow by him. If he doesn't get the safety backup he's supposed to, and it's happened a number of times this season already, then that side's going to get burned...

I'm happy for the official review but I think the refs were working against the Tide late in that game. If I can see it live and obviously know what the call should be, there's not much of a excuse for the refs to blow it. Yet, they did both on the touchback and the last pass. Obviously in the end zone, obvious he was out of bounds... I feel like they made Saban correct their call. Some people acted like the refs were working in the Tides favor, that couldn't be farther from the truth late in the game. They were making bad calls against the Tide, they just couldn't come up with a excuse to do the same after watching the play over and over when under review. Anyways...

I think the future looks great. In this game the defense looked like we expected at the start of the year, and the offense looked more like we expected... I'm not upset, I'm very happy with the win and if Alabama can knock off UT or Auburn this season will exceed my expectations. Next season a great class will be coming in, Saban will have had a full year with these kids and perhaps more importantly the schedule isn't as difficult. Things will only get better...

Well, without review both of those critical calls go AGAINST us...just like it seems like they did for so long. I'm glad to have it.

Even though it worked in our favor today, I hate the review process. I'd much rather see us bow up and stop them on defense than watch the ref tell us how the game is going to end. I realize it was the right call. And I realize we might very well be 4-3 instead of 5-2 right now if not for the review of that last pass. But I still hate it. The game should be played on the field...bad calls and all...not in the "video review room."

But I'm still glad we won.

I'll trade pithy comments with you; the game should be WON on the field, not as a result of an official's incompetence.

What burns me is the inconsistency with which plays are reviewed- it seems they are happy to review a play so they can spot the ball correctly, but won't review a controversial call or potential game-changing play; That last play would not have been reviewed had Coach Saban not called the time-out; Yet it was clear the rec stepped out of bounds and refs were (surprise, surprise) the only ones that didn't see him step out. It does slow down the game, but its more important to get it right than allow enept near-sighted SEC refs make the wrong call over and over. Two calls were overturned in this game alone, and correctly so. That doesn't mean we weren't supposed to win the game because the refs made bad calls.
The GC fumble should have been reviewed, but we got lucky cause the ref blew the whistle and called him down.

Boy, do I agree. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the refs are supposedly "reviewing" every play. After that play we call timeout - a perfect time for the refs to call "review". This doesn't happen (and this is what made me nervous about the reversal). No one indicates a review.

Then, the play is about to be blown in and you have Saban now challenging for a review. I don't get it. So had we not had the timeout we couldn't have challenged, correct? Then the refs take the time to officially review it even though they technically reviewed it already.

Then, we all know there has to be conclusive evidence to overturn. So, in my tiny little brain I'm thinking if there has to be conclusive evidence then why didn't the refs initiate a "ref review"? Then, of course to all of our delight the play is reversed. I know I didn't explain this well, but you probably get where I'm coming from.

That whole last bit makes NO sense to me. If anyone can explain it clearly to me I'd so appreciate it. Thanks!

We were all thinking the same thing - that just had to be reviewed automatically and I don't know why it wasn't. I'm glad the "dean" of officials was in the house...
