Re: Pat Dye on Finebaum Now

Isn't Jimmy Sexton Chizik's agent?
According to Dye, per Finebaum interview, Chizek does NOT have an agent, or least he did not when he took the AU job. Take that for what its worth.

Where did you read/hear that Sexton was Chizek's agent?

I wonder what is Sexton's cut from his clients. Does anyone know that and who are all of his clients?

BTW, Dye said (and I quote), "... our offense was totally imeffed..."

He also said that UGa and LSU were "way below average."

Re: Pat Dye on Finebaum Now

Wishes he could take credit for it is what he said. Says that he told JJ not hire who anybody else wanted because no one was more qualified than JJ to make the hire.
I think that this time next year (or sooner) he will begin to wish he hadn't said that.

14. Nick Saban does not take Aubie prisoners.

Have I left anything out? No wonder they are so jealous
No, but think #6 was 5 weeks! This is the best-ever unexpected Christmas gift! I have never laughed so much or for so long in my entire life...had to pull off the road to avoid wrecking car...This has been a real eye-opener for me; always suspected that some posts were surely exaggerated (for the sake of a good joke) but now realize it's true-and it's so much worse-than even I can imagine! Makes me wonder what is their definition of 'character'? Roll Tide, Roll....

Re: Pat Dye on Finebaum Now

Direct Dye quote, "He ain't gotta an agent, he ain't repsentin' Gene Chizik!"

He also called Barkley a child and said Charles was uninformed and spoke out of a lack of information (did NOT know ALL the facts).

Think Barkley will hit Dye in the mouth? He's done it for a lot a less. Maybe he'll just spit on Dye.

Re: Pat Dye on Finebaum Now

Dye mentioned ALL these former players as coaches. Do you think this is his wish list fo the new AU staff?

Rodney Garner, Stacy Searls, Pat Washington, Shayne Wasden, and Curt Crane.

Dye said he will give Chizik names of potential assistants, but would NOT "recomend" anybody.

What's the difference?

Re: Pat Dye on Finebaum Now

He summed up the Auburn mentality perfectly when talking about this season. He said if they hadn't lost to all those "below average teams' (LSU, Georgia (twice), Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and still lost to Alabama they would have been ranked in the top 10 or 15 and would be going to a "pretty big bowl."

They talk in terms of mediocrity. It's accepted. As long as they know their place I don't care what goes on down there. They are really a sad lot.

If those are the accusations of Pat Dye...a full-fledged conspiracy by Coach Saban and Jimmy Sexton to bring Auburn down...I can't wait to see what Mark Green has to say.

You think what Dye said was hilarious, just wait until Green shares his opinions.

In Dye's kleeter to Barners, didn't he tell them basically to worry about the barn and not what's going on around them (Bama)? Then Dye accuses Saban of engineering all of the Barns problems?

Re: Pat Dye on Finebaum Now

Go back and listen to Finebaum's analysis of what Dye said and why he said it immediately after Dye left. He said that Dye was trying to rally Auburn fans together by attacking Alabama so that they would stop attacking Auburn! He is trying to stop the immediate bleeding by an act of misdirection.

When people act on anger and hatred the mind is shut down and people are easily led. For my entire life I have seen with many what I have called "the Auburn mentality." It has been described here as "the little brother mentality." I do believe that Dye and the Lowder bunch will succeed in the short term with this tactic. Unfortunately they will only see it come back with a greater force if they continue their losing ways.

What does sadden me the most is what Lowder and company has done to Auburn as an educational institution. I have heard from several professors at Auburn of how easily this gang on the BOT has destroyed lives. They will keep their control as long as they can shut down the minds through anger of those who have made Auburn football their god.

In the end Auburn fans are going to receive that which they despise the most. They are going to be the laughingstock of not only the state but the nation for years to come.

From one of his interviews Jimmy Sexton said "People have this old-fashioned notion of agents that they get a 10 percent cut. You do get a percentage, but it's not 10 percent. The maximum in football is three percent and the maximum in basketball is four percent. But nobody's complaining."

Re: Pat Dye on Finebaum Now

I think it's really sad to see an intoxicated elderly person wallow in their scorn and jealousy to the point that they lose all capacity for reason. This man was once a pretty good coach even if he was on the other sideline. Now someone fixes his drinks for him and changes his diaper. You can almost envision him wandering around his own house lost, but leaving a trail for his nurse to follow.

On the other hand, the aubies deserve every bit of embarrassment they're going through right now. The ones that surround me at work quietly go about their business like they're in denial of their little kingdom falling down around their ears. From bragging to burying their heads in one year! Life is good! :biggrin2: :biggrin2:

I made the trip over to autigers.com last night and most of the barners were praising Dye and think of him as their elder statesman. Isn't that sad? :) :eek2:

"There is a Gator Nation. There is a Bama Nation. But Auburn is a family." ~Pat Dye

This is corporate talk when an organization wants you to feel part of something that you are actually not very apart of. It's crap talk.

I am a Bama fan. I like people who root for Bama. However, you are not my family. I don't think that will hurt anybody's feelings on here. I don't think CNS will disagree. I don't think the team will disagree.
