NO! This makes me sick. My oldest daughter graduated this month from UNA and my youngest daughter is at UNA is a Freshman. UNA has a storied football tradition. I'm afraid this is a VERY BAD hire! :mad2:

All things considered, I think this is a very good hire for UNA. He's been itching to get back into coaching. Say what you want about Terry, but he has experience in D-I big time college football. You cannot question his resume--his personal life maybe--but not his football resume.

I grew up in Florence and graduated from UNA. I think it's a good hire. It will definitely give UNA some PR and will probably help with recruiting.

I guess I'm just letting my thoughts about Bowden bother me too much. I'm afraid he'll be all about Terry and not about UNA.

I don't want the drama; I don't want the 'show'; I want a winning football team.

Wow, a friend of mine who hobknobs with the decision makers at UNA told me about this a couple of weeks ago but I just assumed she misheard something while drunk.

I got my Master's at UNA, and I guess this is good for them in terms of publicity and recruiting. I wish him the best for however long he's there.

Ah, silly me....... I should have said Terry Bowden....... It never dawned on me people wouldnt want to read the link...... Thanks.
I've seen too many threads in which people spout off for 3 pages with nonsense making it obvious they never actually read the linked article. Better to put the important stuff inline.

I graduated from UNA and love the program....Im a little stunned but I think ts a good hire for both. Tator will do well there with a rich program to have under his belt and pretty much knows the area and what the state is all about. If he does good and I expect him to, he can get another job in 2,3,4 years. Gets him back into coaching to maybe redeem himself so to speak.

UNA will get a name coach who has coached a Div 1 school and won a few games. The kids who stay the Div II route will love playing for a guy like that.
Welcome aboard Tator. Oh ya, do we still get to call him Tator? Gonna be hard to call him coach, but I guess Ill have too.

I cant believe I gotta start pulling for Tator, I mean coach Bowden.

I admit, I didnt read the link

Does this officially take him off the barn's payrole of former coaches?

Can he now finally tell what he knows?

Is Pat quite uneasy tonight and tipping it more than usual?

Good for Tatter, he "wasn't an Auburn man" so the leaders there said,
tried to be on the up & up in a world of tiger droppings.

as a former UNA student, I think its a great hire... he is perfect for the program

a lot of Bama fans will hate him for the barner ties, but I think he will succeed in a D2 program and when I saw that on the ESPN clicker during the LSU game, 1.) I was shocked to see UNA mentioned on ESPN, 2.) I was confused, then instantly my jaw dropped... Haven't been keeping up with the coaching search, but this blew my mind... I know Mike Dubose was a candidate

Being that it's UNA football, does anyone really care? Most of the people at their games are there to see the band.
