    MDB Feedback.

RT3413: I wasn't at the game, but based on my experience in the last couple of years marching under Dr. O, I offer my $.02 to some of your comments. Dr. Ozzello typically makes his way to the pressbox before halftime so that he can record the halftime show, and he remains there for the third...

College Football Season...and Notre Dame v. Alabama

Nope. I've never listened to that show and probably never will. Should I feel complimented or insulted if I am confused with that caller? Does he/she have a bad enough reputation (e.g. tennstud) that I should get a new username? Or is everything groovy? Let me know.

College Football Season...and Notre Dame v. Alabama

I would normally avoid discussions of religion on a football board, but it may be somewhat relevant. I am a Catholic and I am no Notre Dame fan. None of the Catholics in my family support ND. (Especially since many of them live in Ann Arbor and attended Michigan). The only time I support them is...

Stupid Barners........how can they be undefeated in Bryant-Denny for 100 years if the stadium is only 77 years old? The first game they played at BDS was in 2000, so they've been undefeated at BDS for four years (2000-04) Maybe SACS should investigate their math department too.

1st MDB Show is Wizard of Oz themed

Yes sir, Master(Shake).:conf2:  rgw, our final show was performed for LSU, Auburn, and the Cotton Bowl--it was the James Bond show. It had the Bond theme as the opener, followed by "Cuba" (from Tomorrow Never Dies), and ended with Live and Let Die--with a tag ending of sorts.

1st MDB Show is Wizard of Oz themed

Last year, the first show was "funk" (EWF and Tower of Power), and the second show was classic rock. Seriously, if the climax in "Dream On" doesn't get you going, then you can't be alive! I relate that song, in a way, to when I played "Planet Krypton" under Ms. Scott (start out soft, gradually...

    Capstone e-letter

It's ironic you mention that. When Dr. Rice spoke at the University before the Tennessee game last fall, she was specifically addressing the Blackburn Institute. What was ironic still was that the British Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, is from a town called Blackburn. Anyways, I cannot remember...

Know any of these Bama fans...

No, lowend meant picture #3--you can see that the MDB is wearing capes. 2002 was the last season we wore them.

Could ut-BAMA basketball help bring the football

I also saw Coach Pearl and Coach Gottfried before the game, and it was similar to how you described their post-game handshake. Additionally, after the two chatted before the game, Coach Pearl went over and talked with some of the Mark's Madness, took pictures with them, etc. I don't know of how...

Whose idea was it for the junior high band to play the MSU game?

I know! They're on sale at Radio Shack right now!!

Whose idea was it for the junior high band to play the MSU game?

Additionally, The director of the Fayette's band is Mr. Kevin Thomas, who was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the MDB from 2003-04. In 2003, he was in charge of the women's pep band and last year he was in charge of the men's, so he knew what he was doing. I couldn't hear the pep band...

Things you won't do as a Bama fan

I won't ever yell "Overrated" to an opposing team that is ranked higher. Saying that diminishes our victory over them.

    The ole ball coach?

Actually, if anyone is owning the other, it is Spurrier. As a coach, he is 6-4 against Alabama (including his loss to us this year). He is 3-2 against us in SEC Championship games. Personally, I'm not mad at the guy--we have a three game streak against him right now. :cool2:

University News: A Third Quad? Seems so...

Not quite. The only buildings that survived the Civil War were the President's Mansion, the Gorgas House, the guard house, and the observatory. "The Mound" is the remains of Franklin Hall, and I believe that the area in front of Gorgas Library may be the remains of the original Rotunda. The...

The Barn's AD and the MDB

Well let's see....it's half an hour away from campus, and the managers must paint tracks to indicate college hash marks. I think it's pretty obvious why we would want to practice on their field.
