We’re 6-4 in the last 10 games and that’s tied for 3rd the NL over that period.

Home record is actually pretty good.

Somehow we’re only 3 games behind the Phillies for 2nd in NL East which is usually a WC spot.

So we at least have a pulse now and aren’t competing with the A’s and Rockies for the worst record in MLB.

I guess that's looking at the positive. The way I see it is everyone in the NL east except the Mets just stinks. We are still dead last in the division, 7.5 behind the Mets.

no game today. Road trip to Arizona and Colorado coming up. The Rockies are so bad they fired the hitting coach this week. How bad are you as a hitting coach if the hitting sucks in a notoriously hitter friendly city?

There is a correlation between Sean Murphy's return and the Braves improvement.

They were 1-8 going into April 8th's game vs the Phillies. Murphy homered, went 2 for 4 and 4 RBI's to help the Braves win that game. This was Murphy's first game back.

So since his return they've been 9-6.

He's leading the team now with 6 HR's as well.

Take 2 of 3 from the D-Backs, then sweep the hapless Rockies, and all of a sudden you finish April with a .500 record (15-15), get a day off, and have the chance to exact some revenge against the Dodgers at home (hopefully with Strider healthy enough to make a start).

This years Braves teams is probably better positioned to play spoiler than anything else unless we get drastically better.

I totally agree. I like Baldwin, but Murphy is killing it. I’m a little more optimistic than I was a week ago. Acuna coming back and hopefully Strider staying healthy they have a chance to get a WC spot. It’s a long season.
