Turnovers and offensive rebounding were the Achilles heel in the 1st half. We win easily had we had a better first half. I think Oats said at the half on CTSN that we were lucky to be down only 4 because "we played terrible." It was really big toward the end of the half to cut the lead from 10 to 4 - the turning point of the game.

Jemison for 2 straight games has become an offensive weapon for about 5-10 minutes. As his defense picks up he will keep growing. He is blocked for more minutes by Allen. But he’s coming along nicely.
I’ve always felt Jemison was a weapon but he gets in foul trouble quick and has to sit. He’s not afraid to go to the rack and actually has a pretty sweet shot. I like his aggressiveness.

At one point he scored on 3 straight trips. I thought that was a big momentum moment. He has to stop getting in foul trouble tho.

You ever wonder if sometimes they get into foul trouble due to lack of respect? The officials don’t know them so there’s no benefit of the doubt.

Watched CNO's presser and I about died laughing when that reporter asked him about the pressure on Hollaway and the fans giving him the business and Coach didn't skip a beat in saying Chuck took some of the pressure off of him.......lol

Might play into some of it I would probably need to rewatch some of the fouls to tell if he really earned them or not. I think it was the Texas A&M game that at one point he had 3 mins and 3 fouls. He has a good 3 point average and on one play he drove to the basket and had a good dunk really aggressive. Could really be a good player for us down the stretch.

Any one know what’s up with bethea? I know he has got a few mins in different games but not enough to get in a flow. Is it because he’s not operating within the system? Or is he in the dog house? If trelly is injured it might be worth getting him some mins before tournament time.

Edited to say I see where the bethea question was already answered.

Wasn’t thinking about anyone specifically. Just the general tone of the thread.

Even-handed? Of course. But some of our people tend to be 80-90%+ negative. That is not even handed at all.

Negative posts are always welcome when balanced and even-handed with positive ones as well.

No one wants to read the same negative over and over. Our best posters are those that understand the balance.

So yes, we encourage even-handed discussion. From everyone.

By even-handed, I mean fair - not half negative and half positive. If Nate Oats can criticize something in a presser, shouldn't fans on this board be able to discuss it... without a mod telling them to stop??? The beauty of TideFans over the years is that everyone can speak their mind as long as it's civil. As a mod on the football board with Earle for years, we never told posters they had to be "50-50" or anything of the like. As long as they were civil and didn't cross the line on coach/player bashing, their posts were welcome. And if posters became 100% positive or negative people on the board would recognize that and simply ignore them. In addition, some of the most "negative" posters on TideFans over the years have been mods... a few of them still active today. And if we're looking for "balance", then let's go ahead and remove about half of the football board right now. When a board gets moderated in this way, TideFans ceases to be the place of "by the fans, for the fans" and becomes the place of "by some of the fans, for some of the fans".

Ok. You’ve said your piece. Let it go.

I did see some cool breakdowns of Oats 2nd half adjustments (and as X can do) it cycled out and now I can’t find it.

But showed how they limited their cross court passing due to how Auburn was defending and started staying on one side of the court

I’ll see if I can find.

Here's the thing. The positive things CNOs teams do are not what get you beat, it's the negative aspects. And, it's frustrating to not see these things fixed year after year. It's what limits the team. Rebounding, defense, and turnovers.
Love the Barn outcome but it's not even close if match rebounding especially clean up offensive rebounding numbers.
You'll have to excuse me but I was taught by a HOF coach that rebounding is fundamental and I won't get over that.
I'll take winning over losing any day though
I hear you. It’s a different style, that’s for sure. But we don’t play a traditional 1-5 game. There’s no Karl Malone at the 4 like it used to be.

Like Lane and Sark’s offense caused our defense to look worse on paper, our style is fast, more possessions. So, as a result more turnovers.

We are top 10 in the country in taking care of the ball this year. The rebounding is also getting better.

This is a good team that struggles against old bigs. It’s our Achilles.

Say what you want about Vitale, but I kinda like the guy. He came up with a good one when he said, "it's all nylon for Philon".
