Elections and bowel movements (was: The Decline of the Middle Class Discussion)

Hillary's elitism forced upon us, Biden's incompetence, Kamala's oblivion. Voters dont want the Democrat version of Trump. Given us an adult to vote for...

OK, so let me deal with this one just a bit, and I'll need to take a shower (nothing to do with hitting myself with stuff from the bowl - may as well fit in, heh heh).

It's VERY HARD to get a lot of liberals to ADMIT that Hillary Clinton was not a very good candidate in the political/personal sense. When you point out her laugh was obviously fake, her jaw often moved like she wanted to spit out what she was really thinking, and from time to time in her career she has just flat out MADE STUFF UP (like dodging Bosnian sniper fire at the local Chick-fil-A).......you get accused of bias or misogyny or something, but yes, Hillary WAS a flawed candidate AND she had some negatives caused simply by virtue of being on the public scene for 25 years.

HOWEVER........if I'm a liberal Democrat, I ask an OBVIOUS question....."okay, I'll admit her flaws but tell me how in the world TRUMP is a BETTER CANDIDATE than Hillary was." Because except for one admittedly important area - coming across as who he actually was - he was far more flawed than she was.

And I to this day cannot wrap my mind around the idea that an (alleged) billionaire from Queens who declared bankruptcy six times but is a "business genius", wrecked a football league and went on Fox News while the World Trade Centers were still burning to say he had the tallest building in New York City was "the guy to whom we can really relate."

Can anyone name any other REPUBLICAN candidate who could have had a tape circulated where he said the locker room trash Trump did and who would have still won the national election a month later?

i knew more than a few folks in 2000 and 2016 (not the same folks mind you) who were of the "i just want to shake things up and get some different ideas in there" mindset. i also knew a few who thought hillary would run away with it anyway in 2016 and didn't want to sully themselves by voting for her.

Yeah, I've seen those idiots who voted for Nader or Buchanan or Stein.....I mean, I at least understood the Gary Johnson voters, they knew he couldn't win but wanted to participate.

But a chunk of the Bernie voters voted for TRUMP.

He was not the better candidate assuredly. People had never heard a candidate say the kinds of things he said. I think alot of people mistook for brushless.

Familiarity in politics is not always an advantage. People had been hearing and seeing Hillary sneer and laugh for 20 years before she became a candidate. All she did was confirm what millions already thought she was elitist and everyone else was deplorable. She played into the opposition strategy beautifully. Democrats are still playing into their hand.

I believe that a candidate like Mark Kelly is what the Democrats need to nominate because he is the complete antithesis in every way imaginable to Trump. Trump will be the opponent even if he isn't on the ballot. Newsom has tried to play the antithesis role but his state is a clown show, he is a deeply flawed candidate because of this.

100%... If the Dems nominate Gavin they will lose.

Kelly, maybe Shapiro or Beshears. There are some good moderate candidates who seem very reasonable and not sociopathic there.

It was obvious that whatever Trumps said or did, FoxNews (the Pravda of The Republican Party) was only going to focus on the email servers, and Hillary's general unlikeability.

Every single media outlet was hammering Trump over these gaffes, yet, you turned to Fox, it was 24/7 bashing of Hillary.

I'm not even sure if Edwin Edwards's "dead girl/live boy" situation would have derailed his candidacy.

After Trump, I can't see a candidate saying/doing anything that will cause them to drop out of the race. Hell, he's a convicted felon/rapist/sexual predator and he won again in 2024.
