What does CNO do with the portal this year???

With Allen gone, this current transfer class doesn’t give warm fuzzies. CNO got bailed out Philon came back last year with a bad transfer class so hopefully some big portal commit to come.

No certainties on Allen… it only takes one team (remember Primo). As Coach says, we better get a home run or two from the portal if we lose him.
This is reportedly one of the strongest draft classes ever, with some “analysts” predicting Allen to be a late 2nd round pick. Next year is supposedly a weak class. The only caveat is that this class is weakest in “wings”.

Also, Allen, who like Philon, clearly loves Alabama and Oats, is not as highly regarded as Philon. Bediako being part of the program this year is a clear warning to all players on the the team. So, it seems likely that Allen returns, but of course you never know.

I’ve seen Philon projected mostly in the 10-20 picks. Allen’s projections as late first round at earliest but mostly into the second round.

To me Allen should either return or enter the portal to see if someone is willing to pay the “stupid money” (we know it’s out there) in NIL.

Yeah I am more looking at portal then NBA draft. If he leaves it will be because he jumped in the portal it won’t be because he goes to NBA draft. He probably makes less money getting drafted and being a two way player in the G league as a very late 1st rounder more likely early to mid 2nd round pick with no guaranteed money. If he isn’t in portal by time it closes I would put chances he returns at 90-95%

Bad choice kind of like Beds a few years ago. Although more upside and think pans out but will take time.

As others are saying, this doesn't mean he can't come back...and hopefully he does!

No doubt... but I'm seeing some guys out there who are basically saying this is Philon 2.0. Rankings are one major predictor, but all it takes is one team to fall in love with a guy. And, this is not good on our end, Allen seems to be the kind of guy that a team might fall in love with - not just because of his game but because of his attitude.

With good size, inside-out tools, and a blue-collar mentality, there’s a lot to like about what Fielder brings to the table. The Idaho native is physical with a high-motor. He goes right into contact in the post, runs the floor hard, is a consistent presence on the glass, plays hard on both ends, and appears to be hyper-competitive. He has a fluid stroke from behind the three-point line and even made some threes on the move. He was comfortable putting the ball on the floor, both to attack a bad close-out for a couple of bounces as well as to start the break, showed a good left hand, and some passing acumen. He sets big screens and is capable of hammering some emphatic finishes given enough room to load up into his jump, with albeit sometimes less lift in traffic. While most of his offense came either facing the basket or in catch-and-finish situations, there were some occasional signs of a potential post game. Defensively, he’s physical and competitive, but maybe not overly flexible in his hips. With somewhat questionable mobility, it remains to be seen how versatile he is on that end of the floor. He also may prove to be more of a physical deterrent in the paint rather than true rim protector.
