I had never even heard of Lewy Body Dementia until the Dr at the hospital diagnosed my 90 year old Dad with the disease.
I would not put a lot of stock in the diagnosis since, like you said, an autopsy would be needed. But my Dad did exhibit a lot of the symptomes.
He had some progressive dementia going on during his last years, but he was able to live independently for most of the time. He even drove his car to church and the grocery store. Up until his final fall, hospitalization.
He didn't fare well in assisted living. He was gone in six months after we put him there.
