Gems on Netflix or Amazon Instant Video (Prime)

Vikings is a definite watch -- we thought it was very good!! Watched via Prime a few years ago. Heads-up that parts are VERY graphically bloody.

    iPhone Calendar Question

It's been quite a while since I originally subscribed to the UA Athletic calendars, but I just did a test and it worked very easily / straight forward. 1. Just to note -- I used my laptop to link to the calendar 2. I visited RollTide.com and found the calendar I wanted to add 3. I selected Add...

Are you a two spacer or a one spacer?

I've transitioned to the one-space team just in the last year or so . . . :geek:

What are you reading right now (II)?

Just downloaded this on my Kindle so I expect to get to it in my reading queue relatively soon. Grisham has never disappointed me!

    Questions About Cell Phone Providers

Same for me -- I've been in very remote parts of the southwest US on military installations and have been the only person with coverage.

Bama Game Thread: BAMA vs Belmont offical thread

So our week of college athletics is completed and we had some victories (Richmond and Citrus Bowl -- and Gator victory for my husband) while I lost yesterday against the Gators and UCF lost to Temple. Temple, like Florida, scored big on runs late in the game to beat UCF. Had to be disappointing...

Bama Game Thread: BAMA vs Belmont offical thread

My husband is a Gator (class of '80) -- we're going to saunter up to Gainesville and hang around for the b'ball game on the 4th after the Citrus Bowl. We're also going to catch Temple v UCF in Orlando on the 31st . . . maybe see Dazon?? I haven't checked on him at all since is transfer -- don't...

    What are your Christmas traditions?

We do Christmas concerts / shows -- almost annually we'll catch either (or both) Mannheim Steamroller and TransSiberian Orchestra. Those two never seem to get old to us . . .

John Petty is the most improved player on the team

Fans here in Huntsville gave JP a great applause as he left the court. He and Kira were definitely hometown heroes today!

How Southern Are You? (A Quiz)

Perfect score for me -- you can take the girl <somewhat> out of the country, but you can't take the southern out of the girl  I'm sure my momma will be proud

is anyone using grocery pickup (online ordering)

I used online ordering/pickup at Harris Teeter when we lived in North Carolina -- that was 8 or 9 years ago and a town of only 25,000 folks. Imagine my shock when in 2012 we moved back to Huntsville (known to be a "high tech" community) and no one offered online ordering/pickup. Harris Teeter...

    Bicycle riders

I purchased a Pedego a few years back and definitely will never go back! My father-in-law first told me about them. He purchased one for my brother-in-law when he, unfortunately, made a series of choices that led to no driver license for a few years. I love, love, love being able to...

BHAM I-59/20 to be closed for over a year.

I traveled down I-65 from Huntsville yesterday (headed to the Tuesday night basketball game against Ole Miss!) and took the normal exit on to 59/20 to Tuscaloosa. No problems at all. It was likely 4:15 or so in the afternoon. Given that it was a late night game, I stayed overnight and drove back...

    Frazier re-runs on Cozi TV.....

I didn't watch Frazier when it was first out . . . but I did watch through all the seasons using Amazon Prime TV a few years ago. It is a funny show!

Renowned Cycling Commentator, Paul Sherwen, Dies At 62

:eek2: :( I missed that news -- the loss of Paul leaves a gaping hole in cycling coverage, especially TdF.

looks like Amazon HQ2 to be in Northern Virginia

So true. We spent only 3 years there (2004-2007) and were happy to escape the crush of people and associated traffic (and the high cost of real estate!). It's a great place, but honestly I just can't see where there is sufficient housing available for such an influx!

What are you reading right now (II)?

I have FINALLY started the Harry Potter series. Loving it so far . . . And just prior to this I read another Rowling novel -- The Casual Vacancy -- and enjoyed it (although, it took me a while to catch on to all the many characters and their tangled relationships!).

    First Car pics

I got the family car when I started driving in the mid-to-late '70s -- a 1964 4-door Galaxie 500 like the one below, except in black. It had a red interior. Fond memories -- except for the cold water that would leak from the after-market A/C; it would leak out on the driver's right foot :eek2:

F-35 fighter jet poised for combat debut

I was in Ft Worth a few weeks ago at the Lockheed F-35 production plant. Impressive set-up to move through so many variants for the different Services and countries. Wish I could have spent a longer time on the production floor.
