Who’s leading QB1 race in FALL practice?

Correct. Also a true statement. I will be surprised if Milroe does not start the MTSU game. Now, whether he is the starter a few weeks later, we’ll see.

Eli reveals John Parker Wilson will not be radio broadcast analyst this season

I like JPW, but personally, I didn’t think he was a good fit for the role. Happy for TW. He has been doing CTSN for years, and I’ve always enjoyed listening to him.

Who’s leading QB1 race in FALL practice?

I think there’s some truth to this. It’s likely whoever starts is going to do well vs. MTSU. I would bet scrimmages against our defense are more valuable.

Poll / discussion: Who will start at QB?

Simpson was a turnover machine in the spring, but fans didn’t have the opportunity to witness it. We’ve seen Milroe have similar issues firsthand. I do think whoever protects the ball best in camp without being too cautious will ultimately be the starter.

Fall Camp set to begin August 2nd

I’ll be surprised if we’re not down to 2 guys by Game 1. It may not be stated outright, but there isn’t enough practice time to rep 3 QBs equally. My guess is that at some point relatively soon, maybe after the 1st scrimmage, the competition will start to favor 2 of the 3.

It was definitely Auburn. Not guessing either.

Poll / discussion: Who will start at QB?

You think we would have put up 49 with Milroe? We needed Bryce because the defense was so bad. I don’t see us staying in it without him.

    Completely agree.

Poll / discussion: Who will start at QB?

RE the discussion above regarding Tua vs Mac vs Bryce Tua put up huge stats, but he tended to turn the ball over against the best opponents. I love the kid, but it’s true. Obviously still an excellent QB. Mac was surgical. Great decision maker. Had a lot to work with. I don’t think people...

David Pollack let go from ESPN (& Game Day) - along with others....

Just my opinion, but I’m not sure McAfee’s YouTube/Sirius audience will translate directly to Gameday.

David Pollack let go from ESPN (& Game Day) - along with others....

I’ve always liked Pollack minus his bias for UGA. I think he was the only one on Gameday besides Herbstreit who really tried to talk football. We will see how McAfee does in year 2, but I was not impressed with him last season. I know ESPN has a lot invested in him, but I haven’t seen the draw...

Question: Will Bama return to the “Game Manager Quarterback” in 2023?

This is the kind of stuff I’m talking about. I haven’t really seen it here, but it’s rampant on a few other sites.

Question: Will Bama return to the “Game Manager Quarterback” in 2023?

I don't think Milroe, in his limited action, has been any better than Buchner was at ND. I still see many fans optimistic on him. There is nothing wrong with that either. Just comparing the two. I see a lot of potential in Buchner personally. Excellent athlete who has the talent to be an...

Question: Will Bama return to the “Game Manager Quarterback” in 2023?

A lot of our fans, especially on other sites, are dismissing Buchner way too quickly. I think people just don’t want to accept that a guy who was set to be the backup at ND could come in and start immediately. There’s no shame in losing out to Sam Hartman though. ND’s staff was actually upset...

Question: What happens to 9/5 game if PAC-12 sits out season?

Making decisions now in mid-May about a football season that starts in September is beyond stupid in my opinion. I get preparing contingency plans and everything, but final decisions can easily wait until early July.

Poll: Predict the NCAA decision for the 2020 season

Agreed that most organizations are more worried about getting sued than they are about the virus. But we cant afford to wait for a vaccine economically. I have a feeling we’re going to find out that this thing isn't much different than the flu which also doesnt have 100% vaccination or treatment.

    Optimistic 2020 outlook

I’ll take a stab at it: QB - Mac or BY RB - Sanders (obviously Najee here if he decides to return) WR - Smith WR - Waddle WR - Metchie/Bolden/Shavers (will probably rotate a lot here) TE - Forristall/Billingsley (probably have to use converted OL again to help with blocking) LT - Leatherwood LG...

Link: QB Jake Fromm Declares For The Draft

I watched Newman play a few times this year, and I thought he was ok. He’s better than all their other options, but he definitely doesn’t scare me or anything. I think catching Georgia early next year really plays to our advantage. Their defense will be elite, but they will have so much...

Bama Game Thread: Tua Announcment - Watch Live & Discuss (11am CT)

Good luck to Tua! One of the most special players to ever play at UA. I don't think there was any right choice with this one. Tua's situation is just so unique. There was potentially a lot to be gained by coming back, but they opted for the less risky option which is completely understandable...

Let's Do This: 2020 QB Discussion

Mac will have a massive advantage because of how well he has played this year. Young is an elite talent and has a chance, but it's gonna be a tough task. I don't think Lia or Tyson have much of a chance here. Not because they're not good players, we're just loaded at QB right now.
