When I've brought it up with UGA friends, they're fine with Richt. Sure they'd look another SEC championship and would love to get to the BCS, but their attitude is that with UF, UA, LSU, et al - you can't win everything. And truth be told that's not an unreasonable position, but if you want excellence, sometimes you have to demand it.

Only reason I say it is because, and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Florida's the dawg's biggest rival? I know about Ga. Tech, but that's OOC. Maybe it's the barn or Tennessee, but I always thought the "world's largest outdoor coctail party" was THE GAME for Georgia. If it is, Richt simply can't keep losing it. If he goes to 2-8 against Florida and still wins 10 games, he's definitely safe, at least for one more year. But I don't see the Georgia powers-that-be happy with 8 or 9 wins and a loss to the lizards, to boot.

I agree Richt has a record of winning equal to Dooley minus the national championship. How long did it take Dooley to win one?" 10 years or more.

Dooley took over as UGA HC in 1964 and won his only NC in 1980. I still think Richt is not on the hot seat, but as mentioned at some point he is going to have to beat UF with some consistency.

You may be right about Harbaugh's comments, but IMO his success at a higher academic school and the fact that he is a Michigan man may lead to short term
memory loss on the part of the search committee.

It has to be Les Miles. Honestly I don't know how he is still employed. UGA fans are happy with Richt because they just don't know any better. I'm surprised LSU has held onto Miles this long. They should expect more considering they have 2 titles this decade
