IIRC, Tommy Bowden had a really good team at Tulane earlier in his coaching career/back in the '90s. So yes it can be done there.
A good reminder. Didn't Rich Rod also have several good teams there?IIRC, Tommy Bowden had a really good team at Tulane earlier in his coaching career/back in the '90s. So yes it can be done there.
That was expected given the players and folks in circle have been impressed with his performance.Breaking from ESPN.

per Coaching SearchGeorgia: Mark Richt says he has several options to weigh about his future, including the possibility of coaching. Richt notes he’d love to coach offense and quarterbacks again. He has been offered a staff role at Georgia, but hasn’t accepted it. Athletic director Greg McGarity says Richt's new contract approved by the board last January will be the basis for compensation, even though Richt hadn't signed it. McGarity adds that he will use a search firm to find the next coach.
Well, that helps Stanford. Not sure how it helps USC.Breaking from ESPN.

That's a shock to me. I thought it was a good as done that Chip Kelly would go there. Maybe the the Canes can get him now. That is the biggest program that as big money to throw at a coach.
That clears the path for Kirby or Mullen to get the job at Georgia....Tom Herman announces he has agreed in principle to a deal to stay at Houston.
I think Herman is holding out for an elite job to open up, as opposed to taking over a mid/major program. Given what is currently going on in Austin, probably a smart move on his part.Tom Herman announces he has agreed in principle to a deal to stay at Houston.
Wow...that is surprising. It was reported by many he was on the short list for a bunch of openings.Tom Herman announces he has agreed in principle to a deal to stay at Houston.

And it is one less competitor for Kirby for the UGA position as it was speculated that their was interest in Herman there as well.I think Herman is holding out for an elite job to open up, as opposed to taking over a mid/major program. Never even talked with Kelly? Wow. Pat Haden already shouldn't have a job because of the officiating scandal. But he may actually lose his job if Helton doesn't work out.A source told McMurphy that USC never talked with Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly, but school officials did have discussions with a representative of FSU coach Jimbo Fisher and former Rutgers coach Greg Schiano -- along with other current NFL coaches and assistants.
