For someone who attended UCLA he came across as someone very uneducated. Embarrassing, regardless of "where he came from". There's being amped up and then there's losing control. He lost control.
Exactly. I really thought he was on some type of drug. It was as if he couldn't keep control of himself and his outbursts. Embarrassing indeed. All the other players I saw carried themselves with class and represented themselves and their universities well..

That didn't really bother me. He's a good player too and Falcons needed another pass rusher.

I know it's not possible I know more about this than the NFL front offices, but every time I look at this list, and think of Garrett and Fournette and how they performed head to head with us and comparing their seasons to guys like Allen and Foster especially, I have to shake my head.

And don't tell me head to head with Bama doesn't matter, at least as some perceive, because all the talk last night after Watson went to Houston was about how his performances in his games with us were a factor in his stock.

Rueben really lost some $ by falling as far as he did. He'll probably net ~$2M of that signing bonus. Not sure how far that gets you in San Fran. Still, what he got is a great head start in life..

He obviously doesn't have a choice if he gets traded but I think AJ's best career move would be stick around Cincy one more year then he would be an unrestricted FA (IIRC) and would have a lot more say in which team he goes to..
I actually think Browns are a sneaky good spot for him. He knows the HC and their offense already so the transition would be easy.

i only saw garrett when he played us, but i was underwhelmed with him. in last year's game, i noticed him several times "taking the play off" when it wasn't on his side

Garrett was basically shut out 3 years in a row by Cam. That's why I was kind of surprised he didn't go first round. I understand his mental lapses and such but he basically shut down the unanimous #1 pick 3 years in a row blocking him mostly 1 on 1. Sure, you can poke holes in Cam's game but same can be said of the other offensive lineman who were drafted in round 1. However, I think Cam showed the potential for the highest ceiling by (mostly) dominating guys like Garrett and Barnett. I do remember Barnett got around him once in our game this year and got a sack/fumble but those were few and far between..

Well obviously we hold on every play so those games really weren't relevant.

He was hurt wasn't he?
he was coming off of injury. but i remember seeing him just stop on plays that went away from him. maybe he was really out of shape, but he never played very well against us. his effort last year reminded me of knowshon moreno in 2008, make a few "splash" plays, then take a break

That guy seemed crazy. It's kind of weird to carry a framed portrait of your grandmother around with you (and yes I heard the backstory on that) but he just seemed like a loose cannon. Every interview I saw he was scream talking and just so amped up. Maybe he's a good ball player but he seemed a little loony..

49ers holding their introductory press conference for Reuben and Solomon Thomas right now. Reuben says he was on the phone with the Saints when the 49ers called him to inform him they were trading up to draft him.
