2020 Prospect: 2020 Commits and Prospects

If I were to ask who the most important remaining potential recruit would be between Burch, Jarrett, Washington or Webb, what is your two cents? I guess I would say Burch. It seems like we have lacked elite talent on the d-line and inside linebackers the last few years. I realize we had Q. Williams and Moses before he got hurt, but compared to years prior, the amount of really talented difference makers has decreased.

Well, my response would be yes, yes, yes and yes.

All of them are important...I would go with Webb....he is a great pass rusher off the edge that we have been lacking since Tim Williams.

I’d go with Burch because he can do what Webb does plus more but Webb is a talent that isn’t currently on our roster so it’s a toss up for me. Kennedy can slide outside as well be a bullet of the edge once he learns the rope on jumping snap counts and all that.

I’m greedy........ I want all of them, but I know the class will be excellent
Amen brother! it's like when I was a kid and my parents let me circle one item on each page in the toy section of the Sears catalog getting ready for Christmas. I'm going through each position circling my favorites. I hope Saint "Nick" brings me ALL of them!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Man when I watch Bryce young’s film there’s a WR #4 kodi Epps bryces go to guy. The kid is a true possession WR. Catch’s the ball in traffic solid route runner. I wonder if Bama has offered anything to this kid? You can’t ever have enough fundamentally sound kids. That play with tremendous heart.

I really don't watch HS receivers - I have no sense for how their games project to college - but Epps is not very highly rated.

Yea I understand that well I love to analyze film I think people get to caught up in ratings. Most of the people responsible for rating never even played ball. Every year I see a ton of players ranked high but they also a ton of players ranked lower that on the field will produce way more. Can’t rate heart and love of the game. I wasn’t surprised one bit when Antonio Alfano didn’t pan out after breaking down his film. Reason being he just didn’t have the foot speed. He was just really slow non athletic. He played standing straight up a lot and at times due to not having quick twitch foot speed he couldn’t cover ground or change direction. That my friend is none as a stick in the mud. He was basically a nose guard in a DE body. I seen him live here in San Antonio too at AA game. Was not impressed. Way too slow to have all that aggression and skill.

I have noticed him also but he does not look like he has SEC speed but that is based on eye test only against HS competition.

Hunter renfrow #13 for Clem didn’t have the measurables or flash either but you see how he panned out. Epps can get open he’s technically sound but he plays with passion and heart those are the things you want. He played ball in a very high level of high school football faced multiple D1 recruits every game. Can’t get caught up into rankings. Gotta go based on production and how the guy plays the game.

People on the UGA boards seem to think Burch is all UGA now... not Clemson. Wonder if we still have a chance with him?

It wouldn’t bother me if those guys were to get a little dose of misleading recruits this year.
Well Burch is a hard one to read but he doesn’t strike me as UGA type of kid meaning can be sold a dream. I feel we have a good chance just based on the fact that Burch mom likes Saban and that’s has always been good for us in the past.

So, it appears that, as of now, we have 25 commitments.
What is the expectation? Are a few of these guys going to be told to look elsewhere?
Is everyone currently committed solid?
Who else do we realistically expect to get on Wednesday?

I expect Jayson Jones to take a blue shirt offer and move to the OL or sign elsewhere. Looking like Jase McClellan will flip to Bama. Then I expect Alabama to get at least one out of Burch, Webb, and Washington. Then they will wait to see what McKinley Jackson and Rakim Jarrett (if they don't get Arian Smith) will do in February. That's based on all the info that's out....but recruiting is fluid and changes every hour. I expect Bama to close strong.

Georgia Tech feels they have the inside track on Jones, at least according to the Atlanta paper
