true, but that is 4 million they now cannot spend on a pitcher.I don't care about the lost money. He had no place on the roster and could never be traded.

Technically they spent it on acquiring Kerr, who ATL apparently loves.true, but that is 4 million they now cannot spend on a pitcher.

It's official: Yamamoto joins Dodgers on 12-year deal
Another day, another historic free-agent deal for the Dodgers this winter. Los Angeles announced a 12-year deal with coveted Japanese right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Wednesday. The deal is for $325 million, sources told MLB.com insider Mark Feinsand, and the Dodgers are also on the hook for a...www.mlb.com
ugh…
I can't believe this one.So if I am following correctly we just traded our best prospect for a pitcher that is hurt a lot.
Seriously Alex?

Yeah, I saw the news and like you assumed FA. Then I saw we traded for him and said words not appropriate for Tidefans.I can't believe this one.
I just heard we got Sale and assumed it was a free agent signing.
When Sale is not hurt, he's one of the best pitchers I've ever seen. The guy went 29-12 with Fenway as his home field and won a World Series, but he's old for any baseball player (esp a pitcher) and his arm is long gone.
This is not good.
Yeah, I don't have a problem with adding him to the roster, but not at this price.Chris Sale is being held together on a wing and a prayer. ATL probably could have had him for a non-prospect. To give up Vaughn Grissom (regardless if he had position on ATL or not), imo, is a bad overpayment for a gamble. A more worthwhile gamble would have been on Shane Bieber. I know Bieber is not the same pitcher he once was but I believe he's a better gamble than Sale.
I hope it works out, but it is a total crap shoot.Braves have extended Sale's contract. 2 years 38 million.
Minor league deal for now.Braves are bringing Charlie Culberson back....
as a pitcher.![]()
