May Britt, the Swedish actor whose marriage to Sammy Davis Jr in 1960 was the subject of controversy due to US attitudes towards interracial marriage, has died at 91.

Her son Mark Davis confirmed the news to the Hollywood Reporter, saying his mother died on 11 December of natural causes at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana medical center in Los Angeles.

French film legend Brigitte Bardot, a cinema icon of the 1950s and sixties who walked away from global stardom to become an animal rights protector, has died aged 91, her foundation said Sunday.

Bardot had rarely been seen in public in recent months but was hospitalised in October and in November released a statement denying rumours that she had died. The foundation did not say when or where she died.

Former Diff'rent Strokes child star Melanie Watson has died at the age of 57 after suffering serious health complications while hospitalized, according to a report by TMZ.

Watson passed away in Colorado Springs on December 26.

Watson, who was born in Dana Point, California lived with osteogenesis imperfecta, a rare genetic disorder that causes extremely fragile bones and frequent fractures.

Her brother Robert said Melanie was fortunate to have lived the life she had and he would think of his sister 'a great deal.'
She was also instrumental in establishing Train Rite, an organization focused on training sheltered canines to help people with disabilities.
Watson appeared on Diff'rent Strokes during its peak popularity in the early 1980s, leaving a lasting impression on fans of the beloved sitcom.
