Threads like this one are why I joined TideFans more years ago than I would like to admit.

We’ve had some incredibly knowledgeable posters share as much of their expertise as they can, yet keep quiet where appropriate (even in the face of pleas for substantiation) in order to preserve their sources.

In many fields, the masses are constitutionally incapable of playing the long game. But people who know what they’re talking about do. And they post here.

Several nervous nellies were decrying the dearth of commitments (I have to confess I was wondering when the anticipated results would materialize), but the truly knowledgeable posters were saying, “Keep calm and carry on. Be patient. All is well….keep the faith”

Lo and behold, they were right. Where are the nervous nellies and talking heads now? Looking at you, Paul Finebaum. Looking at all those who said DeBoer was a bust. Looking at talking heads who said we were dead meat without Saban.

I’m hearing crickets.

On a variety of topics, including but in no way limited to football recruiting, TideFans is blessed with the most knowledgeable and level-headed posters on the interwebs.

Thanks to all our recruiting experts. I would name you, but I’m sure I’d leave someone out. Regardless, we appreciate you.

This has been the plan for a few months now. They want 2 QBs in this class. The expectation around the program is that Ty Simpson will be one and done after this season whether that is to the draft or portal ,and Keelon Russell will take over next year. Of course that would leave you with only one QB assuming that Austin Mack hits the portal. You would most likely see them hit the portal for an experienced back up. Jett Thomalla, our current QB commit, was made aware during his recruitment process that we would most likely take two QBs. Also a cool connection with Kaawa is that he has been trained by Tua's dad, Galu. The kid has a big arm and good frame. I'm very pleased with both QBs in our class.
based on what Ty is showing its likely Mark Sanchez 1st round. he tore up Manning Passing Academy. While I love Jett Kaawa is impressive especially working with Galu ( who has a damn impressive track record btw ) Also, I would expect two again next year with another Galu pupil and someone else.

Our WR recruiting will be done by Thursday ( HINT HINT ;) ;) ) do not sleep on Owen , he's legit. Shep is the best WR coach in football ( hardline is good but born on third base ) Shep turns Purdue and Washington guys into NFL pros. And Shep loves him some Owen and Brian Williams. ( they like them better than messing with Keys or Boobie )

Lastly if you came out of a comma and saw the roster you would swear nick saban was still here. thats impressive by this staff. also this staff imo is better than any of Saban's since about 17.

No, just a little prediction there. 😂
Thursday is open lol he says in the next two weeks.

Also, I would expect Tank to bama eventually in July. too many relationships and hes got that Gump in him like Crowell , Griffin etc. Make no mistake this staff isn't paying these guys or I should say matching the crazy offers but should show you how much putting on that crimson jersey means to them. KR was turning down more than proven starting QBs in the transfer portal last year to stay with bama.
( one last recruit fits this bill too Nolan because we were first to offer and Freddie Roach is an elite recruiter. Guess we will see Friday )

More you say ?
;) ;)

What does “its likely Mark Sanchez 1st round “ mean?

Brian Williams Jr announcing today but could not find a time but it appears to be all Bama. If you have not seen his highlight video you should, can't believe this guy is a 3* and don't expect that to be the case in the next couple of months.
agree TJ. his offer list tells a different story. he is coveted by top programs. I truly believe the scouts and evaluations this past season are just downright lazy!

30+ offers. He seems to be criminally under-ranked.

Agreed SJC. When 247 does not even have him on their top 1000 national list and is #799 on the composite and is ranked the #163 WR then somebody has not been paying attention at all. That will change however.

All the recruiting groups (on3, 247, espn, et al.) cannot possibly eyeball the 1000s of recruits. Many players get re-evaluated in the fall. This is when the infamous’Bama bump’ happens.
