Short version.
NIL still exists and schools can over bid BUT contract must be approved by the clearinghouse (NIL go)
In other words those deals mist be legit. Can't pay your 3rd team center 5 figures in NIL unless you can show how they are going to earn it....at least thats how it will work in principal. We will see how it works in reality as it gets tested.
The playing gets leveled but only for "the haves" which bama is one of. The schools who got used to giant NIL bids may keep it up if they can afford and justify it (Oregon, Texas, aTm, Michigan, Miami etc...) but bama has been prepared for this shift and its paying off.
Auburn is experiencing the consequences of tying up all their money in two classes just to spite their rival. And their situation right now reflects that.
