Pro wrestler Dennis Condrey - born in Florence, Alabama in 1952 - has died at 74.
(Play the theme from "Midnight Expres".....IYKYK)

Oh no..

I feel bad for Cornette as he was close with both Condrey and Beautiful Bobby and now both are gone.

Not too many guys from the Golden Age of the 70s and 80s of pro wrestling are still with us.

Nope.

Wrestlemania 3 - the zenith of the 80s wrestling boom - was 39 years ago next week.

Who's left?
Rick Martel
Bob Orton Jr
Don Muraco
Hillbilly Jim
The Haiti Kid
Greg Valentine
Brutus Beefcake
Jacques and Raymond Rougeau
Danny Davis
Brett Hart
Jimmy Hart
Koko B. Ware
Ricky Steamboat
The Honky Tonk Man
Jake Roberts
B. Brian Blair
Jim Brunzell

The announcers except Jesse Ventura (who is now 74) are dead, the referees are dead, the promoter (Zane Bresloff) is dead, and we can figure on average that probably around half of the people who attended the show are also dead (the average age of a wrestling fan would skew low so there's probably a lot of folks still around in their 60s and 70s).

As far as the NWA, Starrcade 85 was 40 years ago last Thanksgiving. AMAZINGLY, most of those guys are still alive.

I am still here. That was one of the best events I have attended. I wasn’t at the Silverdome, but we had the place in Birmingham rocking.

Ronnie Bowman: 21 March 2026

Huge loss to the musical world. To say he was a genuinely nice guy, while accurate, would be an understatement of vast proportions.

Privileged to call Ronnie a friend for the last 35 years.
