Yep, saw that the other day. Seems he only got limited snaps for Colorado in a 3 win season. Man, talk about falling off, Nick recruited this guy.

He played 16 snaps for the season on a loosing team. Nah, don't need a guy like that.

Don't know. He was great at times, then not so much. Maybe good for depth.

Not on his best day. He decided to quit on us to preserve a redshirt and left last year mid season. Can’t crossover a bridge you burned on the way out of town.

We currently have 7 on the roster and will lose Cuevas and most likely Dalton to the portal (Samarrco is possible also). Lewis has been injured most of his career. Bringing in transfer Ford and freshman Sutter gets us back up to 7 (possibly 6). Bama plays three TE's at times in DeBoer's offense so makes sense to me.

I don't think he meant that. I think he meant losing Cuevas (senior). And most likely Dalton to the portal.

You know as well as I do coach there are 2 position groups in the TE room, even if we don’t use an H and Y very often. And, the staff has probably heard rumblings about a couple leaving the program.

There two tight end type positions in our offense

yep - I do know that technically, we have 2 roles, but the reality is we don't really use them that way. If you lined all our guys up now and had to pick which ones were H and which were Y, I bet it'd be darn near impossible.

Our best (Cuevas) is the least prototypical and starts at H. In theory, the tallest/biggest is the Y starter, but when then starting H was out, who started? The #1 Y. Who then got the Y reps when we ran 2? The #2 H, who also took the #2 Y reps when then new #1 needed a breather. Also whenever we start in a formation with just a Y, it's the #1 H who is out there.

Also, just comparing depth versus say, OG, where there are always 2 in the game and we don't seem to have nearly the same number of guys for those 2 roles. Same at OT for that matter.
