I mean he wasn’t that great a guard either…Formby was going to be moved to OG and he wants to be an OT. So he left. He's not a very good OT and OG should be a much better fit for his skills. He disagrees.
Best of luck to him.

I’m sure that list is just as long, if not longer, for many teams. What separates teams is how coaches make the most of the players on their roster.
Exactly!! I think this sentence needs to be reiterated ad nauseum every time some fan or poster has doubts about Bama football. If he’s too soft or too loyal to make the necessary changes, his days will be numbered.
I can't tell you how many times I have beaten this drum to death to everyone and their mothers who want to listen. I get all the angst about the coaching staff and etc., but I am willing to give him year 3 to fix all the things we saw. honestly, we don't have a choice but keep him at this time and hope for the very best!know it’s probably the same old song and dance for now, but CKD doesn’t have his players in place yet. We’ll see what happens once he does.
Yeah, people are acting like the transfers are just an Alabama thing.I’m sure that list is just as long, if not longer, for many teams. What separates teams is how coaches make the most of the players on their roster.
He was a recruit from Saban with the 3-4 defense and would have been a better fit for him as an outside linebacker rush guy similar to Will Anderson or Tim Smith. In the 4-2-5 defense we run he isn’t really big enough to be a defensive end and didn’t seem to have the coverage skills needed.
This is where I am. I’m not ready to kick CKD to the curb. And I do agree he needs to get in his “type” of players. But I’m troubled by what I’ve seen the last two years. Lack of physical play. Undisciplined play and seemingly lack of preparation. Some of this has nothing to do with “player type” or “system”. I has everything to do fundamentals, attention to detail, and preparation. And that is coaching.I can't tell you how many times I have beaten this drum to death to everyone and their mothers who want to listen. The problem I have is that with this staff who knows if they’re even playing the right players.I don’t understand fans, bench players getting so much love like Adams. Look at other WRs that transferred out and very low percentage did well. Adams return stats are bad and he didn’t get on the field. Saying he will flourish somewhere is based on what? Used to be the backup qb was the favorite guy now it’s all bench players lol
I have said that since they changed coaches that part of what makes teams succeed is having the right guys that fit the system. Some of the people on the board don’t realize the change in schemes was going to need a complete overhaul. You had players brought in for one system and then after the coaching changes a completely different system. On defense we went from a 3-4 to a 4-2 front half. Players like Keeley are not guys that really fit the new system as he was recruited as a 3-4 outside linebacker that rushed the passer. He is a Tim Smith, Will Anderson type player as outside linebacker who rushes passer. In the new scheme he isn’t really big enough to play as 4 down man guys and coverage skills were not great.Exactly!! Staff changes are certainly needed. And I’m glad to hear those things are likely in the works. But CKD needs to start “buttoning things up” in year three.
Great tape!Supposedly visiting Alabama on Tuesday :
Based on what?He played in 2 games!!! and is a freshman....this isn't what we need but if this is what we get...we are in a whole heap of trouble...
It can be. The question is, “is it?”. I.e., how good is Alabama’s evaluation? So far it’s been pretty good: r.g., Brooks, Simmons, Russell, et al. At least with HS kids. Sometimes it’s hard to tell with some portal players because you don’t know how much they are being paid, if anything. Sometimes it’s just a scholarship or that and $20k.An OL with 4 starts for MSst...that cannot be an upgrade
You notice I didn’t say I had I bunch of faith that he could do it. The reality is as you stated. Nothing is happening until after next season (at the earliest). And Byrne may very well give him a fourth year just to be “fair”.I'm to the point of, we don't have a choice and Byrne won't do it anyway....so DeBoer is our coach for 2026.
I think he's too soft on the players and his culture in the program is too soft. I think his offense is terrible and not suited for the SEC.....he isn't going to suddenly get a power running game....he's never had one. If he surprises me and does that, great....it means he's morphed his philosophy and might be fine.
Otherwise, I figure he's done after next year.
6 of the 8 losses he's had at Bama were embarrassments. Unprepared team meets unmitigated disaster....and this staff had no answers. He's turned the program into a joke and we're soft as tissue.
There's a fine line between getting blown out and winning a championship......I can't tell you how much that statement irks me.
Very well stated, 81!Staff moves unless you are moving OC or DC don’t happen fast. DeBoer literally had 15 hrs before the transfer portal opened after losing to Indiana. It’s why you aren’t seeing really anyone with an incumbent coach making position moves right now.
if I were Ty, the NFL is my ticket. it's not a great QB class. GM will take a chance on him esp. if he does a solid performance at the combine. they have enough film on him and know his strength and weaknesses. with a good OL and capable running game depending what team takes him, he will thrive. If you can't access this...
