This is where the coaching staff, specifically the hands on, position coaches, even coordinators, are most important. The head coach becomes a "figure head" only. Why spend $10MM on that guy, when the hands on teachers and instructors are going to develop the guys, and bring in fresh players for one season, every 6 months?
One thing is for sure, the sport itself will NOT adapt these portal and NIL rules because the SEC begins to fall as it's done in the post season this year, and not even been present at the college football title game, since 2022 (23 playoffs).
Here's a fact: Since 2006, the SEC has won 13 natties. UGA as the repeat winner in 2021 and 2022.
The portal and NIL were finally given free reign after the 2020 season.
And part of the goal was to eliminate the advantage that the SEC had clearly enjoyed for almost 2 decades. Fight me.
