Link: 2026 Transfer Portal

Awkward locker room is inevitable there now
Which is what I thought was so hilarious about the situation. The University refused to enter him in the portal. Then there was talk he may just withdraw from school. The school said “fine we will take you to court and sue you to get back the $50k advance plus punitive damages”.
So you’re having to sue one of your own players to keep them on the field playing for you? How absurd is that?

At least it ended there…so there is a precedent that if you welch you have to pay up, which is typical with most contracts btw

Just checked the On3 website for transfer portal updates. We are currently ranked #40 with 20 out and 6 in. It is looking like this is another pending failure on this staff. Maybe once the portal closes we will see some coaches move on. Nah

“Failure”? We’ve been trying to tell you guys with your head in the sand that Alabama can’t compete head to head for guys only interested in getting pay raises.

remember that the portal closing just means more guys can't enter. It doesn't mean guys won't still be trying to work through their landing spots. There's still time to make an impact, but the staff better get busy.

Kiffin has LSU folks all in on the portal. Even more than they were with Brian Kelly. Even to the point they will throw stupid money at players. The word was that was Kiffin and LSU luring the Washington QB back to the portal after re-signing with them.

Very few schools have essentially unlimited resources. LSU isn’t one with the financial backing to keep this up long term. They might get a championship run out of it but we’ll see. Indiana on the other hand could be here to stay. Good coach. Billionaire alum.

And the only thing that might be able to offset the inability to outspend would be excellence on the football field...winning championships and such.

With the Alabama brand gathering more and more dust each season, that's going to be an increasingly difficult variable to rely on.

And on-field success may not even be enough.

Many kids today would probably be more interested in money than trophies anyways.

247sports has us ranked at #24 in the portal so far.....12th in the SEC.

We need to finish in the top 15. We've got some guys we're after, so hopefully we get there. Unfortunately, top 15 overall probably has us no better than 9th in the SEC.

Our recruiting went very well....we just need to do well in the portal so we have a good mix of players. If we don't, we will fall further behind.
