This concerns me that fans want Alabama football staff to do what they want them to do..... And not always trusting the coaching staff. They see and hear things we normally don't. Trust the process and let it play out. I'm not worried at all.
I guess part of the issue is I don't really trust some pieces of the current staff, I've said it before but we're trusting people to fix issues that they aren't really qualified to fix, so it's a bit tricky. This concerns me that fans want Alabama football staff to do what they want them to do..... That has been and will be the case until the end of time. It is easy to scream from the cheap seats but not really anything coaches will do about it. If they do then they will eventually be out here screaming with the crowd. Who said that? Gene Stallings? This concerns me that fans want Alabama football staff to do what they want them to do..... Agreed. Posters keep saying to relax and trust the staff and everything will work out, but call me hopefully skeptical, with more emphasis on the skeptical part.
My thoughts aren't necessarily about the signings. My skepticism comes more from how the team has looked in their losses, and around half their wins tbh, which seems to be more a part of development and motivation as opposed to talent. The staff has certainly earned to right get their pieces in place. Getting to the quarterfinals is definitely not something to sneeze at, but even in some wins the margin of error was razor thin because of fundamentals. I just hope to see improvement in some coaching aspects and that a fire has truly been lit under the staff. This concerns me that fans want Alabama football staff to do what they want them to do..... Couple that with the fact that Alabama did not do a good job in the portal last year, where they clearly had needs and clearly should have addressed some things, and it's a bit disconcerting.
Heck last year they got worse in key areas (running game, run blocking) and now we're seeing some of those guys leave (Horton, Calhoun, etc...).
So, to recap of the 4, 4 stars they added via the portal last year, 3 of them are already gone again. I'm looking over the list and it's not like it's a bunch of impact players. So what are they doing this year that's going to be so much better than what they did last year? That's the concern...

So your worrying and skepticism are going to solve the problem and make the Bama staff do a better job?Agreed. Posters keep saying to relax and trust the staff and everything will work out, but call me hopefully skeptical, with more emphasis on the skeptical part.
Who the heck are these people? So we need Horton, a wideout, helping in pass protection? He would have needed to be 4-5 yards deep in the backfield to run block because we refuse to run wide. Hilarious
Cignetti will still be doing the evaluating, though, whether it's two-star or five-star.So let me get this straight. "Indiana" has the right approach and upstart, CNS-like coach, who is an excellent recruiting evaluator, and keen eye for detail, is a team of 2 and 3 stars who don't play for money but for each other and a process-driven coach???
This means they've figured out the formula for being good in this NIL/portal era??? They are the new-blood that conquered the blue-blood (the school the blue-blood fans speak longingly and lustfully about how they've figured it out and hired the right coach) and now they are the picture of success and are here to stay???
But now, Mark Cuban, alumnus, billionaire, and smart investor, is supposedly about to dump millions (we assume) on his alma mater. So this team made up of 2-3 stars are about to be able to pay the 4-5 stars???
So, they'll abandon the plan that worked to do what the blue-bloods, who have failed, are doing??? They will start paying players, but those paid players won't be greedy, selfish playes at a certain southern, blue blood school who is trying to figure out NIL too??? But, we wish we had their coach and wish we would follow their brilliant plan???
GOT IT!
Here's the problem with the portal/NIL:
Maybe it'll work for us next year ...Here's the problem with the portal/NIL:
Horton transferred from Miami, presumably to get paid AND chase a title, but last night he watched his former team punch their ticket to the NC game.
Alabama is just in a weird place right now because in theory I get it. You have some flaws with the current roster, you do need to improve, but you need to actually address the issues via addition.Who the heck are these people? So we need Horton, a wideout, helping in pass protection? He would have needed to be 4-5 yards deep in the backfield to run block because we refuse to run wide. Hilarious
Yes, but CC will start having to deal with the 5 star, who is getting paid and getting tempted to go to another team that can pay him more. This is the very thing that drove the GOAT out!Cignetti will still be doing the evaluating, though, whether it's two-star or five-star.
