There's a revenue sharing cap of what appears to be 20.5 million.

The other avenues.....I don't think there is any enforceable limit. That's why Campbell at Texas Tech is throwing huge bucks around.
Educate me. So there's a limit to rev. sharing, but no limit to what individuals can do?

If so, other than the former, the latter is simply legalized $100 handshakes X how much ever a guy wants to spend???

Correct. Revenue sharing is capped at $20.5 million. NIL isn’t. These boosters are trying to get ahead of the curve. If you remember, Deloitte is the clearinghouse that all NIL deals must be approved through (supposedly)’to assure us (supposedly) that they are legitimate (supposedly) NIL deals and just simply “pay for play”. As far as I know, Deloitte is still trying to “get its act together”. Right now, it appears they are busy just “rearranging the deck chairs” on college football’s Titanic.

It’s like knowing the game warden is on his way but you can catch a few more “over the limit” fish and high tail it out before he gets there.

This concerns me that fans want Alabama football staff to do what they want them to do..... And not always trusting the coaching staff. They see and hear things we normally don't. Trust the process and let it play out. I'm not worried at all.

Fans are going to be fans. They (we) discuss our football team on both the good and bad things. That's what makes being a fan fun. Being able to talk about it, give your opinion to your fellow fans, and we all can discuss. In that discussion, people aren't going to agree, and that's another fun part of it. Good discussion and debate. It's just part of being a fan.

So in the spirit of discussion and being a fan, what has this staff done or what have you seen in two years that gives you confidence that these are the people to take Bama back to the top? For me, though I've seen some good things, I've also seen some bad patterns that seem to be a part of the fabric of the HC and his staff that underminds the good things that I've seen.

Another thing to remember with the revenue sharing is that $20.5 million is across all sports at an institution, not just football. However, football and men’s basketball probably receive the largest percentage of it.

Frankly, I am not worried about a thing. DeBoer gets the message. Nick told him on national television that he failed to meet our expectation. If the guy is cut from the mold we need him to be then he will have enough motivation to get it done. If he don't, well, we will find someone who can.

Nick has actually reminded him twice on national tv about not meeting the standard, how high the expectations are at Alabama and how the fans have no patience. I don't think Nick was saying that for filler on tv, I think he was saying "Hey man, I get you're new, but you better get your crap together or it's about to get ugly for you." Nick knows...

If you guys watched the pre-game last night they did a piece on Saban's role with training all 4 guys still in the playoff. After that was over Pat McAfee said, "why didn't Bama hire someone from the tree?" Saban ignored that statement but I thought, yes, why not.

Alabama is just in a weird place right now because in theory I get it. You have some flaws with the current roster, you do need to improve, but you need to actually address the issues via addition.

So last portal for instance they let an under-performing offensive lineman go. Fine, don't overpay, do your thing. But who did they replace him with? Did the offensive line get better or worse?

They let a key running back go, someone they didn't use much and he supposedly wasn't a good fit. Fine what ever, who did you bring in that was better than him? How did you upgrade the running game? Oh wait, you just got worse there as well?

That's the issue we're looking at here. I don't at all mind letting guys go, but at some point I just start to wonder if they're actually going to replace them with upgrades or not. If they were faster moving, like even Indiana is despite still playing in the playoffs, I'd feel better. They seem to be dragging their feet and it makes me nervous. I hope there's a master plan unfolding though but if not some of these guys might be looking for work come this time next year.

exactly!!!

with all the movement last season, the only one that was truly additive was Horton and I could argue that his addition is a factor in RW's slump this year since that's what moved RW into the slot.

Dewberry - not as good as who we lost, or current guys on campus he took time from.

Hill-Green - played reasonably well, but I would have traded him for holding onto J. Oko and giving him all those reps in 25 to be ready to take over the reigns in 26.

The gaggle of TEs - NONE played. True Freshman passed them.

Arkuwon (sp?). Zero OL reps.

I don't think anyone else even made any noise.

The staff knows, and has said they struck out in the portal last year. We haven't yet seen if they know how to fix it.

Anugwom was a long term project with dismal expectations of success... An odd take...

None of the TEs looked like even rotational players in the SEC.

It’s like the old clip of Jerry Glanville on the sidelines with the Houston Oilers giving an earful to an official he thought made a terrible call.

“Hey buddy… This is the NFL. You know that stands for? “Not For Long” if you keep making calls like that….”

Nick knows CKD is “Not For Long” here if he doesn’t get it together.

The staff knows they struck out in the portal last year.....but they've made no changes on how they go about the portal it appears?

We've got the same staff doing the same things.

"I fully support Greg Byrne in what he decided to do and what he's done it," Saban continued. "I'm hoping they get the ship going in the right direction here. It's not bad to get in the playoffs and finish in the final eight, but not the expectation around here, which is tough to live up to sometimes."

Actually... Did have one guy who is pretty sharp on my Discord state that Jay Lindsay would play for us going forward, just needed a year of learning and S&C to really get close to that.

But we took five of them! And we have Lewis who suffers one injury per 11 snaps...

I’ve seen more reruns of Jerry Lewis on TV the past year than I have Danny Lewis on the field for us in his entire career.
