The line was trash and so was the running game and you said nothing because Saban was the coach.

We declined at the end of Saban's tenure...notably on the OL....but also very noticeable in discipline. We were so heavily penalized in games.

I can say that DeBoer's crew seems to have fixed the penalty issue, very noticeable this year.

When as stated on this platform by a reliable source who’s a member of the REC, Morgan spoke to their group and said: “We struck out in the portal and you should temper your expectations.” Okay, that was last year. Are we watching Part 2?
I still can’t get over that if it’s true. Isn’t that part of his job? It’s like his excuse for not doing his job is that he didn’t do his job.

The 2022 team rushed for 195 YPG at 5.6 YPC for a total of 2,544 yards and 26 TD’s in 13 games.

The 2025 team rushed for 104 YPG at 3.4 YPC for a total of 1,562 yards and 21 TD’s in 15 games.

If I didn’t get hot and bothered in 2022 it’s because the running game was nowhere close to as abysmal as this years team.

I’ve never said CNS was perfect or beyond any kind of criticism.

Words and thoughts are being put into my mouth and mind here that I’m not even communicating.

Heck, Coach could not hold on to assistants the last part of his tenure. His rep as a hard nose kept many from coming and those that did were looking to just boost their resume and onto bigger jobs. No continuity was the problem not to mention inferior assistants that did come.

There's a fine line between words and thoughts.

Seeing universities in states with no state income tax tweeting out to potential transfers that they would get to keep more of their cash than at rival schools.

Good news to those of you in Alabama. State legislators will repeal state income tax soon to overcome competitive disadvantage.

thank you for mentioning this topic. it was overlooked because of all the other pressing matters we saw this past season, but it was clean up and turnaround after his 1st season and that to me it's a great sign that he can do much more if given time.

Which mistakes? OL has been bad both years, but was also under CNS.

Two years ago, we lost to a bunch of teams we were able to get revenge on this year (except OU in the regular season).

Two years ago, we couldn't complete a short pass, but excelled on long ones; this year, it was almost the opposite.

Two years ago, we had a running QB; this year, it was a throwing QB, who eventually got beaten up.

The defense improved immensely from the 1st year. It was good enough to win a NC if the offense had come together.

Now, in hindsight, the only game that's hard to explain is the opener against FSU. In SECCG against Georgia, we had no chance with the injuries. Now the game against IU doesn't look as ridiculous since they did the same with Oregon.

Someone on X has even said Alabama may have been the 2nd best team in the country behind IU. I don't believe that, but I also don't believe we have necessarily regressed and made the same mistakes as year 1 either.
"Someone on X said"; well that's credible

This forum is simply a microcosm of humanity…and a magnificent opportunity for a sociological case-study on human nature.

Carry on…I’m taking notes

Deep stuff here….particularly for those of us swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool.
