Portal is closed players in it are now facing the reality of not having a home since they left and their positions backfilled. Not necessarily for us, but I do wonder how many of those guys suddenly have become real cheap just to get in a roster and will be quality depth pieces for someone.
Nope, cant argue with what he said and I dont think a PE firm has to get involved to strip loyalty from the game. The NIL and portal are already doing that.
She is out of eligibility; but a Mississippi court may rule otherwise
I believe they stated on WJOX that 46% of Division 1 portal entries are still unplaced.
What a shame for a young man to get bad advice and loose a scholarship. Tough life lessons learned.
They won’t lose a scholarship. They added 20 more scholarships this season to each team. Now they might not get the school they wanted but there is still plenty of options available to find homes.
I suppose some of that number could be attributed to the glut that occurred when all of the players got an extra year of eligibility due to Covid...
That Glut had to eventually disappear somewhere.
Not only scholarships but also any NIL deals and revenue sharing deals they had in place at their previous school.
Depends on the terms of the contract; but most likely.So does entering the Portal nullify/terminate an NIL deal?
Just saw that Richard Young signed with Colorado. Good for him. I hope the change will do him good. There are a few I have no ill will toward for transferring. Richard Young is one of them.

Yeah, but players are suing for 5-6-7 years of eligibility. That doesn’t help either. Plus , now I saw coaches voted unanimously on a rule to allow players to play in 9 games to burn a redshirt. If that passes, and no reason it shouldn’t if coaches want it , that basically gives players an extra year. These are crazy times. And the portal will get clogged with forgotten players. As I said before, people alleged that Nick oversigned and kicked players out of his program to make room. Now, we have coaches telling entire teams to hit the portal.
many will lose their spots, even with the 20 extra there won't be enough chairs when the music stops

What’s the point of giving them more games to play and still redshirt. They won’t be at your program in a couple years anyway.
