Yes, he is Todd Graves and he’s now a billionaire. We live down here now right outside Baton Rouge and he is very prominent and outspoken with his LSU support. There are also several high powered lawyers, Gordon McKernan being the most involved, who help fund everything along with various other business owners. I have never heard anything about oil money.
A few years ago, I built a very expensive custom acoustic guitar for a federal judge in Louisiana who’s a wonderful human being…as well as a huge LSU fan. During that timeframe I learned how fanatical the big-money boosters are at LSU…and you’d be absolutely flabbergasted at the manner in which the big-money-people in that state support that university…especially the football program. It’s truly a “way of life” down there!

Egos get stroked in many different ways...

Players who entered during the open period can still be picked up.

I guess if we really like a guy we could pay his coach to resign so that the portal window for them would open back up. Put that in blue font but it would not shock me at all to see that sort of thing happen. It's become a ridiculous clown show and getting worse every day.

I know players can no longer enter the portal, but can still be picked up. I'm wondering - how many of the 5000 or so that went in to the portal have been picked up? You always hear about the big names, but what about the little names.

no idea if it's accurate or not, but On3 has over 3300 that entered the portal, and slightly over 2200 committed, so somewhere between 1000-1100 guys who have not landed yet (and many won't).

You really have to live in Louisiana to get a full and realistic appreciation of just how…….fanatical is the only appropriate term I can think of, they are. With some, it borders on pathological. With the possible exception of SOME Tulane fans, EVERYBODY is an LSU fan. Even the kids that go to the other schools go to LSU games.
Makes Alabama and Auburn fandoms look , well, milk toast in comparison.
Explains why Baton Rouge on a Saturday night is almost surreal!

Alabama has an adult fan with some issues who is internet famous for not giving a ______ about nothin but the Tide.
