4 star WR Chad Bumphis will vist for Tulane

20th ranked WR Chad Bumphis from Tupelo MS. will be visiting this weekend for the Tulane game. Bumphis lists his top 3 as Mississippi St., Florida and Alabama.

I thought about Chad Bumphis when MSU lost their game. I think it is down to either MSU or Bama. Hopefully he will enjoy his visit this weekend and Bama will become his leader.

You know Mod it puzzles me. How can a possible future NFL prospect at wide receiver watch Mississippi State's offensive scheme for one game, or one quarter for that matter, and not completely zap them off his list??

He has to know deep down that State is simply not going to have a Quarterback that can fire the ball to him quickly enough or long enough for him to demonstrate his talent.

I have to think this young man is smart enough to know that his future in football runs directly through Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Least I hope so. He's definitely an impact player.

MSU and Croom are doing a bang-up job in recruiting so far for 2009. I just hope that Bumphis is not part of their NSD class. He needs to sign with Bama. I would love to see Bama land two WRs from Mississippi, Bumphis and Kevin Norwood from down in your neck of the woods.

A lot has been made about his mother. Apparantly Mrs. Bumphis is enamored by MSU, but it is the only campus she has visited. Most feel like Bumphis is pretty sold on Bama and if we can get his mama down here then she will feel the same way. Because if mama ain't happy, nobody's happy!

Same thing with Fletcher Cox. If we can get his family onto campus we have a good shot of flipping him to Bama.

I feel the same. Bumphis and Cox seemed to rave about Alabama after visting the Nick Saban Football Camp. However, there families want them to stay close to home. I can understand it more for Cox, since he's from Yazoo, but Bumphis is just up Highway 78 in Tupelo. I think a combination of a bad year for Miss. State, which looks likely, and getting their families to Tuscaloosa, can lead to Cox and Bumphis commiting to Alabama. Signing four or five guys from Mississippi sounds great to me.
