My daughter is the Senior Editor of the Georgia State University Signal, the student newspaper there. In the interest of full disclosure, I am a GSU grad (and an Ole Miss grad, as well! :biggrin2
. But that is not the story.
My daughter had media credentials for the game, along with some of her Signal colleagues. True to form, the Bama Nation treated my little girl like she was Queen Elizabeth II or something. 50 yard line seat in the press box, all the hot and fresh food she wanted to eat (courtesy of the Media Relations team at the Capstone), very friendly and courteous staff, and of course the glorious stadium along with all that is the Bama Nation on a typical Autumn Saturday. Her highlight was the Saban press conference post-game. She stood maybe 4 feet from the man and was truly in awe. While she had questions to ask, she didn't get the chance, but never mind. She spent the day like she was on a cloud. The paper has a Sports Editor, so she will not write about the game per se. She is going to write a reflective op-ed piece about the total experience of being there. I'll see if I can get a copy of it posted somehow once it comes out. She came home exhausted, but so excited.
By the way, she wore her houndstooth tennis shoes to the game. Roll Dadgum Tide.....
