Alabama Basketball Roster Tracker 2026-2027

Heard today that Sherrill being in the portal isn't a done deal yet. Not sure how that squares with what you're seeing there.
He didn’t want to go in but his agent is leading everything at this point. He’ll do what his agent says unfortunately

Can you look and see what some of the freshman got last year? I don’t see how some of these teams were under a $15 million. And they said the prices would be up about 35% year over a year, from what I’m saying it’s way higher than that.
AJ got 3.5 million to 4 million last year to play for BYU. Boozer was 2.5 million+. Caleb Wilson listed at 1.9 million. Keaton Wegler at 1.8 million.(this must be from outside NIL once the season started as he wasn’t even a top recruit so no way Illinois paid that for him to come there). You also have to think not all that might be from the school and university. I think those numbers include other nil money from sponsorship outside and during the season money they make.

How it is reported seems to be a grey area with different numbers for everyone and there are different types. Some the university pays up front then they get portion of using their name and some comes from the corporations. Braden Smith got 1.5 million from Purdue apparently but now he has a few other deals he recently got once he broke the assist record. I believe he got one from State Farm I saw commercials for on and great clips company so that if you look he is now listed at 1.8 million on few places. Otega Owah got a NIL deal from Buffalo Wild Wings after his half court shot vs Santa Clara.
If you look at our team Aiden Sherrill is listed as getting more then Philon which is interesting because I have seen Philon got 1.7 million from te university.

Right now, my personal feelings toward Sherrell is "Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you."

He frustrated me beyond measure last year trying to be cute around the rim. I think he's a "wanna be" guard caught up in a big man's body.

I don't care if it's his agent or not; if he's trying to hijack our program for more money, I hope we leave him wishing he'd been happy with playing in a system that lets him shoot 3s. He'd be a perfect 4 for us, and he should be helping us land the true 5!

I want to see us use that money to get a real 5 who isn't afraid to be aggressive at the rim!!!

I know I screamed “dunk it” more than a few dozen times this year.

His NiL was apparently 1.8 million last year which seemed rather high compared to the production he gave us. I have seen rumors Duke might be after him to replace Ngonbah if he leaves for the draft.

Is that the guy from Syracuse? I keep hearing mixed messages about this guy. In the video I saw he looked pretty slow. But who the heck knows
He is. From what I've seen and read he seems like a perfect fit. Gets out and scores in transition. A lot of his highlights are this. I don't think he's slow for his size at all but I haven't watched him in a ton of detail mostly highlights and reading. I think he'd be an improved 3 point shooter here. 6'9" can score, rebound and create a little.

Everyone makes baskets, can he rebound someone’s miss and force tough shots?

Thats all this team is ever missing: someone who will spend more energy on rebounding and defense than they do on trying to score.
He has solid rebounding numbers. I think he averaged 6 or 7 Defensive boards and 1 offensive a game.

Don’t know if people are just being salty about Sherrell right now but there’s a lot of down playing how big he was this year for this team. Coach should pay to keep him. Unfortunately this is a perfect example of agents telling a kid to take money vs be where he wants and it stinks. Anyone who says they would turn down $100k-$1M pay increase job offers is lying and hyper critical as well. Think we all hate the way things are right now.

Rumored asking price is $4, I don’t he was 2.3 times Philon’s value.
