wac schedules are up including the espn and espn2 schedules and the bama game with hawaii is not on the espn schedule

Those ESPN/ESPN2 schedules change all the time, and will continue to change throughout the season.

Plus, we aren't usually on ESPN or ESPN2 a lot. Yah we were on ESPN2 I believe against USM. But, we are usually on CBS or not on TV. Also, not taking anything away from Hawaii, but I don't think a Hawaii game would be a hot ticket item for viewers.

Actually, we're usually on ESPN/ESPN2...

Fairly regularly. In the past few years, with the exception of '05, we probably have been on ESPN as many times as we have been on CBS. I doubt seriously that CBS will televise the Hawaii game since it's the first game of the season and they don't normally broadcast any games the first couple of week because of the US Open coverage.

Bama-Hawaii is on ESPN

I thought when the contract was being negotiated, ESPN committed to the game. I could have swore in the press release announcing the game it said ESPN had the TV rights to the game. I would imagine it will be a 4PM or later kickoff due to the fact an earlier kickoff would be before 11AM in Hawaii.

I don't have the source, but I recall reading at some point that it would be ESPN's night game for opening week (or maybe ESPN2?)...anyone know for sure?

The Barn and Washington State is the night game the opening week on ESPN. We may be the ESPN2 game though.

When the original series was negotiated, ESPN committed immediately. I do not recall that being the case with this year's game. The original announcement on rolltide.com did not mention it.

I would think if ESPN had made an early commitment, the schedule on the website would already reflect it. But with our sports information people, I think I usually know stuff before they do, so that might not be the best indicator.

I wouldn't think it would be announced on a wac schedule played in an SEC stadium. it would be up to the SEC to announce it, I don't think CBS has chosen its games and while I doubt it will be on CBS, all the rest have to wait for the big dog to announce its lineups before tweaking their own.

In the past, CBS has not carried a game the first weekend. I would not expect that to change. They have US Open (tennis) coverage that weekend.

JP Sports is another possibility for getting televised. If it is televised I hope it is a late afternoon game. The heat in Sept. is a killer.

JP would be fine. 11:30 kickoff, which means it's actually what, 6:30 for them? or maybe 7:30. we'll be pumped and ready to go, they'll still be dragging. and it'll still be hot, it's alabama.
