Couple thoughts- we saw Coach mention multiple times during Training Days about being honest with yourself. While it applies across the board, that might have been a targeted message. Second is Tua looks like the love child of Fran Tarkenton and Drew Brees.

I really don't think it's a good idea to have to change gameplans everytime a new QB comes into the game. We can't have a Tua gameplan and Jalen gameplan. It just confuses the players and takes the sails out of the wind.

I remember being at the Washington game couple of years ago and my son wanting to go to the walk thru. Everybody was lined up for the players to walk between on the way to the stadium, but Jalen got all the buzz. People were cheering the most when he walked by them. I don't know if we realize how difficult this is for him from that standpoint. He has certainly lost some confidence and the team can sense it, but I thought he played fairly well yesterday. He seemed to be trying to throw instead of run. It may take pressure off him being the clear backup.

I believe from what Jalen is saying that there is zero chance he will transfer this year as he is scheduled to graduate in December. Speculation if he will transfer afterwards is just speculation but he would do it as a graduate transfer.

I felt like the team’s energy dipped when Jalen was in, may be my imagination.

Also, trying to figure cns motivation for playing Jalen so early and supposedly continuing to play him going forward. The thought crossed my mind that maybe Jalen and his family need indisputable evidence that he is not NFL qb talent.

Herbie did did a great job pointing out the differences in talent between Tua and Jalen.

I don’t know the mental processes of Saban’s mind and don’t pretend to, but even he knows who the better QB is at this point and would have to know it makes complete sense to name Tua QB1........ the competition is done after last night

He could convince CNS to redshirt and transfer after December if he wanted.

Given the new redshirt rule, that is highly likely, and he can still get some more playing time to work on things.

Tua is more like Young in terms of build but his game reminds me a lot of Brett Favre's. Young developed into a great passer; Tua is a natural gunslinger like Favre.

I think Coach is committed to the Process to its finality in the only way end the decision is ultimately with play on the field. Oftentimes scrimmages and drills are too scripted and called to test an individual player's ability. While the reps maybe the same for each the type and quality of those reps may be different.

He needed Jalen to see how far the gap is between he and Tua on the field in a live game. But I also think Saban needed to see it for himself too making sure the second half was no fluke. I have a hard time believing what I am seeing maybe he does too.

Honestly, he probably is working to get mac jones up to speed as a capable backup until that point is reached he needs to keep Jalen plugged in.

I'm hopeful that Tua and Hurts make quick work of the Arkansas St defense next week and we get a long look at Mac Jones in the 2nd half.

I had that same feeling last night when Jones went in. Not sure he hasn't surpassed.

I'm hopeful that Jalen is out of the rotation. At this point, he is impeding the development of our other QB's.

i see a little aaron rogers with the ability to extend plays yet still see downfield. Very close in size also
