This is football related right?
I have no idea what this has to do with the QB competition, but it was funny.

Wow. What a video. I would bet any QB coach would have a field day if they sat Jalen down and was honest with him. This video consolidates exactly what was frustrating me to no end during this last season. I can't imagine the frustration of the receivers and the coaches. What is scary to think about is how long Coach Saban let this go on. It was obvious at the end of the season that teams were playing us and challenging us to beat them with the pass. For me, it is obvious. The QB job is Tua's. All this talk about fairness and winning the team over is just chatter. The team responded to Tua in the championship game. I am excited thinking about how good our offense is going to be with a QB who can throw the ball and play the position. The running game will benefit - the OL will benefit - the defense will benefit (fewer 3 and outs) and we can dictate what we want to do and keep defenses reeling (just like Georgia). Roll Tide!

Does someone have the link? I would like to see it.I'll have to go hunt that video...sounds like it confirms what we already knew.
The video contains language that can't be used on this site so it can't be linked, unfortunately. Try searching YouTube for John Doe Quarterback Competition. It's about 27 minutes long and features a man talking over footage and images of the games.JDCrimson;3231312[B said:]Does someone have the link? I would like to see it.

Imo, the coaches have been more than fair in trying to develop Jalen without sacrificing team goals and almost did that anyway. Could they have done more? Sure. Would the team threat of mutiny be more severe? Absolutely!
At some point if you want to get better you have to focus your efforts on the areas that need improvement. I think Daboll had the correct approach, he had a vertical passing and running attack philosophy. Basically, saying, "Jalen if you want to go to the next level you have to be able to move the ball with these type plays." The calls were made, the routes were there, and the receivers were open consistently. Yet Jalen couldn't execute consistently. Do you think the coaches were calling the whole offense to focus on running plays to exploit the front right quarter of the field? No that was Jalen improvising.
Jalen stifled his own development and limited his opportunities by bailing out on so many plays whether that was running out of the pocket or the rollout throwaways.
What else are the coaches supposed to do at this point? Jalen knows the plays and knows how the offense is designed to operate. Imo, he has to execute the prostyle offense better than the other QBs to keep his starting position. Essentially he has to better than Tua at what Tua does best. The only way Jalen has even a shot at remaining a viable option is injury or Tua becomes too reckless with the ball.

Not to mention the stain that will be on my pants! If Saban starts Jalen against Louisville, it will be the biggest stain on his legacy as the greatest college football coach in history. Tua will be our QB for the 2018 season.

Watched the whole thing last night, and it was painful.
Side note  I kept thinking I’d heard “John Doe’s†voice somewhere before. Finally hit me  it’s either the Funny Maine guy not being funny at all, or his voice doppelgänger.

Why is everyone afraid that Jalen will bail on our team? He has had the opportunity to improve and compete. Tua is better. End of discussion. We have capable back-up if Jalen leaves. I think Coach Saban keeps it open with the press to do what he does best. Keep everyone off balance. He knows who will lead our team for the next couple of years. I have no problem with Jalen. He is a fine young man. I wish he would look to his future and try and develop in another position. He does not have the inherent skills that a good QB has. He has no future in the NFL as a QB.I still think there is a really good chance that Hurts will start the Louisville game due to the respect Saban has for him. I don't think there is a way in the world he can hold off Tagovailoa, who will be the firm #1 qb by the 3rd game if not before. That said, I hope Tua blows it away in practice and is #1 from the first snap onward.

Everybody isn't. Personally, I wish he'd transfer today. I think it would be best for the team, and give Mac Jones the snaps with the 2nd team.
