I've spent lot of time reading all of the posts since the thread was started. I think I understand why some people are on Tua's side, and some are on Jalen's as well. I think we probably are overlooking few things regarding Jalen.
1. Jalen said he wanted to learn how to be a pro-style QB. he didn't get that development from Kiffin and Daboll.
2. Jalen is heading into Junior year with a third OC... ( Well, if you count Sark, then it's 4th) That's lot of turnover for a QB trying to learn the position.
3. I really believe that Jalen's performance was affected by the fact he was told by Kiffin and Daboll to play it safe and was limited to half of the field
4. Many of you have heard story about Daboll and Locksley game planning for Hurts.. and how Daboll refused to develop Hurts. He was a NFL guy, not college guy.
5. Everyone spent so much time blaming Hurts for his performance and what he didn't do on the field... but we often forget about the contributing factors that played into his performances on the field... I honestly don't believe it's 100 percent on Hurts...
6. I've maintained my position on the fact that I believe Jalen should get another fair chance to show what he can do under Eno and see how much he has progress with a dedicated QB. I know Tua has talent and so does Hurts.
Let them battle it out in the fall camp and whatever happens, it happens. If Jalen starts.. I will support him 100 percent. if Tua starts... I will support him 100 percent. We will be fine either way. There is a reason why Coach Saban is the coach of the team, and you know what? Let's just trust him to make a decision on what's best for the team. We may not always like it, but support your team.
