TUSCALOOSA, AL – Alabama baseball is set to take the field as a group for the first time this spring, as the Crimson Tide will officially open spring practice on Friday, Jan. 24.
Friday's first team workout will begin at 1 p.m. CT followed by an intrasquad scrimmage set for 2:45 p.m. The Tide will follow with a pair of practice-scrimmage splits to fill the weekend, with both practice sessions scheduled for 12:00 p.m. starts on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's intrasquad is on the docket for a 2:15 p.m. first pitch, while Sunday's scrimmage will be played at 1:45 p.m.
The Crimson Tide will also be featured as part of the Alabama men's basketball game versus LSU on Saturday evening. Alabama baseball will sign autographs on the south concourse from 6:15-7:15 p.m. before being recognized late in the first half in front of the Coleman Coliseum audience.
Due to ongoing maintenance at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, fans are being asked to enter through Gates 1 and 8 on Friday and to remain in the right field bleachers. Fans are also being asked to park in the 2nd Avenue parking lot on Jan. 24 to alleviate the Coleman Coliseum parking lot due to the women's gymnastics meet at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, practice spectators are suggested to park in the Coleman Dr. loop between Sewell-Thomas Stadium and the Mal Moore Athletic Complex as a result of the men's basketball game later that evening.
Beginning Saturday, fans can resume entering Sewell-Thomas Stadium through the main gate (Gate 3) located directly behind home plate. Once inside, attendees are to stay in the lower bowl seating area with access to the upper levels of the stadium strictly prohibited.
All scrimmages are subject to change. The length will be determined on a game-to-game basis. Spaced out between scrimmages are the team's regularly scheduled practice sessions. Dates and times of all practices and scrimmages for the upcoming week can be found on RollTide.com each Monday.
Admission to Alabama baseball's on-field activity is free to the public. Gates will open each day approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of practice.
Updates and changes to practice times or complete cancelations due to weather can be accessed via X/Twitter (@AlabamaBSB) or on the Crimson Tide's Facebook page.
