Alabama, sigh, you've done it again Part II

This is just blood boiling negligence from one Human to Another.

The article says it's the 16th Death of this kind in 2025 and that's 16 too many.

No excuse for this and especially in the Southern US

I'm tired of this Planet ya'll... real tired. I want off this rock.
Terrible, just terrible. Why wasn't this social worker arrested on the spot? Where's the name? Where's the mugshot? We can't probably shame this person if we don't know who he or she is.

No child has ever died of a heat stroke while being bused, walked, biked, or taken the train to school. Our corporate driven infatuation with personal cars has cost us so much. Just to drive this home, in 2023 you're 74 times more likely to die per mile in a car than on a bus, 26 times more likely to die in a car than on a train, and infinitely more likely to die in a car than on a commercial plane as there were no deaths. You just can't use a more dangerous method to commute than a car. https://injuryfacts.nsc.org/home-and-community/safety-topics/deaths-by-transportation-mode/

I've got a better idea. Let's all just stay home and play Call of Duty. Seriously, I live far away from city center, where buses and trains operate, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I get to wake up and watch the deer traipse through the woods, it's really quiet at night and the air quality is awesome. The risk of dying in a car wreck is a risk I willingly accept.

I dont have a copy of it but the State of Alabama put out a circular on the impacts of the federal government shutdown in Alabama. Its stark. Im recalling from memory...

- The federal shutdown cost the state $733 million in lost GDP every month,
- 20% of the state population receives SNAP benefits, over half of these are children, food insecurity within the state Will be severe by Thanksgiving,
- there are 80,000 federal workers in the state now not getting paid
- A material % rely on Obamacare for their healthcare

There were other elements that i can't recall but it is very bad for our state. And this notice was issued by a Republican government mind you.
