I am not puzzled by the "immature" excuses because I believe we are an immature team. Look at Auburn and the team they have. I am not an Auburn fan, but they have a lot of Seniors on their team who have been through some tough times such as last season, the year before with Tuberville, the loss to Alabama at home when they had the lead on us. As a result they matured and have demonstrated an ability to come back game after game and not loose their poise.
Now look at our team. They were ranked #1 at the beginning of the year. Many of them sat on the bench while winning their teammates won the National title last year. They have been told how great they are because so many of them are 4 and 5 star recruits. What kind of adversity have they gone through? Have any of them lost to Louisana Tech and experienced that kind of humiliation like the players on last year's team did. I am not criticizing our players for not having gone through those experiences, I am just saying they have not.
I would have hoped they could learn to play "every play like it has a life of its own", "dominate your opponent every play" for 60 minutes, by simply being preached to by their coach to do so, but they have not. Now they have to experience the humilation of loosing such a big lead. Like many of us they do not always listen to the preacher and his sermon. I hope they will learn from this bad experience and eat the humble pie and realize they are going to have to develop the kind of focus and intensity that winners have. I believe they can do it and I believe coach Saban and his staff will do their best to remind them of it just like they reminded the previous team of that Louisiana Tech loss. Roll Tide
