Big Brown has looked awfully impressive so far. I don't know if it's because he's a truly great horse or if it's because there's no other horses to challenge him but so far he's blowing the competition away. One thing's for sure his toughest test is yet to come, the Belmont always seems to be too much for these Derby and Preakness winners. If the recent past is any indication it'll be a disappointing day for Big Brown in three weeks, but personally I'm rooting for him because I'd like to see it happen. I think he has about as good a chance as we've seen of any horse over the past several years of getting it done too. It should be interesting.

Ever since I was a kid, I've loved watching horse racing. I don't bet, but I love to see them run. For some reason there was a very weak field yesterday. After BB, there was really no other contenders in the race. If this continues for the Belmont, BB may very well win it as well.

Yeah, I mean the only other horse that they were giving any kind of realistic shot at upsetting Big Brown was Gayego and he faded terribly down the stretch. Just couldn't keep up the torrid pace he started with. Still an impressive performance from Big Brown though, once they turned the corner down the back stretch he just kicked it into another gear that seemingly only he possessed and ran away with it. I'm looking forward to seeing what he's got left for the Belmont.

Not once but twice, jockey Kent Desormeaux sneaked a peek to see if anyone was gaining on Big Brown. "I looked between my legs, under my arms, and they were eight (lengths) behind me," Desormeaux said. "I stopped pushing. I said, 'That's enough."' - AP story
That's one special horse.
