Anywhere to camp after a game?

my son and a few of his college friends are coming over for the game and can not locate a hotel room for the South Carolina game. Is there anywhere they can put up a tent?

You might do a yellow pages search for Tuscaloosa. The only places I can think of are Lurleen State Park (something close anyway) and Oak Mtn SP.

If they want to see some cool scenery while in the area they could go to Sipsey Wilderness up in Double Springs, but that's a 2 hr drive and does not have improved campsites. It's strictly backpacking.

What about Tannehilll (sp?) park. It's between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. We used to camp there some when I was a student at UA.

tannehill is nice... lake lurleen is pretty and a bit more industrial as far as camping goes. Oak mtn. is just too close to B'ham and the traffic will be a pain.

i would take tannehill on that one.

I've wondered about that myself. It doesn't seem like it would matter if someone put up a tent around the RV's. Maybe at the back of the parking lot between Riverside swimming pool. Is the pool even still there?

A couple buddies of mine did that at UT a few years ago and no one seemed to mind. I don't see why it would be any different at home!

If my memory serves me...I think it is 13 floors o'...but there is no official 13th floor so the floors are numbered 1-12 then 14. Silly supersticions
