Who the hell is auburn? Im getting tired of seeing posts like this. I know some of you like to start some @$&# but I am truly sick and tired of it. Bama has taken everything the college football world has thrown at it and is still standing. I dont care if the f-tard barners win the war as long as they loose the game. And trust me they will loose the game come November 20th go ahead and write it down!

We'll start working to change that too, OK is one of few states that we are second in, we're number one in most.....

I know in Birmingham sometimes it seems like there's more aubarn fans than Bama fans, but I think the aubs just show it more. I guess they feel they have something to prove so they plaster auburn stuff all over there cars.

Think about all the Bama fans you know that don't have any Bama stuff on their cars.

Talisitider.....I hope you took that as a compliment. There are (3) teams considered the greatest of all time. I don't care which state your in, Auburn ain't one of 'em.

It's a helluva compliment to be #2 in OK. Hell, I think we may be #2 in Alabama.

South Bend, Norman, & Tuscaloosa would be your cultural centers of the universe in the relm of college football. Bloomington, Stillwater, & (where the hell is Auburn anyway) are not!

Noone respects the Tide like the Sooners.

Total the NC's of the above, or just the win/lose record... all are glad to be in the company of the others...

Tide HSV....Not withstanding the Trail of Tears, no state honors it's indian heritage like Oklahoma.

The license plate says it all...."Native America".

Many Sooner fans of my generation miss "Lil' Red" our full-blood native american mascot who fell to the politcally correctness of today's society. It was a tradition that he performed a war dance in front of the student section before each game. Whomever played this coveted role had to be a full-time student & a fullblooded native american.

Alas, Lil' Red went the way of the Stanford Indian & other "politically incorrect" institutions to be replaced by The Sooner Schooner. Now if we'd have really wanted to cover all the heritage bases, we'd have somehow figured out a way to incorporate both into a pregame ceremony where Lil' Red comes out & attacks the Schooner as it crosses Owen Field. That would have been epic.

We really missed an opportunity in the 2000 NC game. I can see it now, Lil' Red stalking Chief Osceola & breaking that flaming spear across his head. Oh well, I guess a victory over the Seminoles will have to suffice.

OFD, I was just kidding with you. My holding anything against the Oklahomans today would be as silly as slavery reparations. Anyway, the Georgians get the blame for the TOT, and my dad hated all Georgians for it until the day he died. I was speaking of the Cherokee Strip Land Rush. Remember, 99.9% of the general public has no idea what "Boomer-Sooner" means...

The whole "Cherokee Strip" episode is why the T-Sips call us "Land Thieves" or "Dirt Burglers".

I guess, from an historical perspective, I'd rather be a Boomer than a Sooner. We may have snuck in early but the Texians simply stole the whole damn state.

No offense taken. As you know, the Cherokee Nation is intertwined in Oklahoma history in numerous ways.

E, the course on OU's campus, Jimmy Pritchard?, is one of the most fun layouts I've played. Great condition for a University course...but ripe for the taking. The last round I played on it I gave up after 9 because of the heat and went to watch OU's practice...but walked off with a few bogey's.

OF, I knew where the two burbs lie (seems odd to consider a town as old as Galveston that), and both niece and husband work for NASA. And, Terry, was that the heat wave of three years or so ago? I crossed OK and the panhandle in that heatwave in late August, hypnotized by the thermometer on the dash. We stayed in some little town out in west OK. The low for the night was 90...
