As expected, Clowney picks USCe

I think Clowney is waiting till the 14th to screw with the recruiting services rankings. I mean they will pronounce someone number 1 and on down the line Wednesday but who ever he chooses could change it completely. That would be a funny enough reason to wait although he probably is still weighing his options and hasn't yet decided lol.

It could just be that he is a 17-year old kid who thinks it would be cool to announce on his birthday... sometimes we read too much into these kid's decisions... they are still kids.

Unless JC's Mom has been taking "Cecil" lessons on how to make your child go where you want, or unless she has over-riding influence on any choice he makes (and if she does, in fact, want him to come to Bama), IMO he goes to SC.
He would be part of one, maybe two NC teams at Bama, but I doubt any at SC. Bama would love to have him, but I just don't see it.
Prayin' for it, though.

I agree i hate to see that much talent not wearing a NC ring!

I like that the decision is coming down to the mom. I know she would like her son close by but in the end most moms want what is best for their child and will sacrifice a lot for it. If his parents truly looked at both of these programs and at the type of young professional men that get made at Bama that are well rounded, I don't see how she couldn't be pushing him to Bama. No knock on USCe but Saban is a cut above anything Spurrier is capable of.

If I was a Bama recruiter I would use two words to impress the moms.........Mark Ingram. Let your son come to UA and we will polish him into a well respected young man. At UA our players hold up championship trophy's and Heisman's instead of gang signs.....and our players don't kick other players in the helmet.....or punch them too......pretty much what they do at aubarn we don't do here. And at UA you actually have to go to class and take your future seriously because football can end for you in one play.

If that conversation happens I think we get a check mark for that part of recruiting from the good character people and a ? mark from the not so good character guys. So I'm sure JC's mom gave us a check mark and probably circled the little box too.

You are making quite the assumption about players at USC with regards to character and development of a kid in to a man.

I have no clue what kind of people come out of that program thats why I said no knock on USCe. I do know for a fact that Saban spends more time concerning himself with his players development than Spurrier does. Nobody would dispute that point. Saban is meticulous about those things and he doesn't have a golfing habbitt to feed lol. If you couldn't tell all that was a jab at aubarn anyway. That's what we do in this state.

I never said his mom didn't give USCe the same check mark. Don't be so sensitive.

Sure do hope we can find a way to close the deal on this kid. He has the ability to jump in and make immediate contributions, and we really need this kind of pash rusher on our D...

The guys sitting in for Fbomb today are saying that North Carolina has now entered into his recruiting arena and are heavy in.

Heavy in with one week until NSD and three weeks until he signs. Don't think it'll happen. I don't think JC pushed his LOI sign back to Feb 14th for any other reason then to have a huge moment in his life on a huge day in his life. We can't read into that any other way. Neither USCe or UA is too worried about him announcing later than NSD b/c you technically have until April to announce. This won't prevent either team from getting another prospect. I'm sure EverythingGreen would agree that the only thing this would do for USCe is mean they would have to move another recruit to JUCO or greyshirt status. Not scary for either team and UA still has room and probably won't fill it up. Him announcing on Feb 14th gives Rumph more time to do visits which is always a good thing for us b/c we'll need every chance we get to impress him over USCe

Those guys sitting in for Fbomb appear to be Auburn homers. I listened for a few minutes, and had to change it. They both agreed LSU would be the dominant team in the SEC next year . UNC has made entered the recruitment of Clowney, but really have no chance whatsoever.

Does anyone think Clowney announcing after NSD is to look at the USCe and UA classes and see who they get to help influence his decision somewhat. I think USCe did a good job of that but I'm wondering if JC is waiting to see if we land Cyrus. I don't think they're best of friends like Dixon but the competitive person in JC and the willingness to become better might make him sway his decision some. Imagine the DL vs OL practices at UA for the next 3 years if they both came.

If Cyrus signs with us on Feb 2nd, wonder if he'll call JC any

LSU is loaded with talent but most are basing their success on the JUCO QB being another Cam Newton. It is hard to expect Miles to go undefeated and he won't be able to win another NC with 2 losses. If he couldn't go undefeated with the talent CNS left him it is unlikely he ever will.
LSU will be better next season but so will Bama.

So basically what I get out of this post is all Bama's players are angels and all USC players are thugs. Give me a freakin break.

What I get out of this post is some whiny rival fan making too much out of nothing. He clearly said "No knock on USCe" and did not say anything negative towards your school whatsoever, minus thinking that our coach is better at making men out of boys (whoo!!!! what else would you expect from a rival fan site). Almost every one of your posts are negative and whiny. Please leave if your attitude is going to remain this way. At Tidefans, we enjoy having rival fans post here; however, not if they are going to whine and moan at every opportunity. I personally like USCe, and I love Steve Spurrier (in my opinion, the 2nd best coach in the conference). No one is hating on you or claiming our players are perfect. By the way, we really want JC too.

there was UNC rumor a few days ago, heck everyone is making a last ditch pitch . CU, FSU tOSU UNC. Rock Hill is about 25-30 minutes from Charlotte (actually a suburb), so I could see it. but I doubt it. not this late in the game
