As expected, Clowney picks USCe

You guys are torturing yourselves we will never get this guy sorry.

GMAC, no offense bud, but the thread is about Clowney. It's not about us not getting him.

I don't particularly like our odds either, but it's a long way to February, and we are in his final 2. I'm willing to let the string play out.

Look I believe the odds are pretty good that Clowney will end up at SC but Bama is still in the hunt and they do have a chance with CNS going hard after him.

I truely believe the people that think they really know exactly what an 18 year old is going to do before he does it are just plain kidding themselves. One thing I have learned over the years is that there really are no absolutes in recruiting.

I hope it does not bother some folks that Clowney will be discussed on the recruiting board until he actually signs with somebody.

BamaOnLine.com - Clowney leads S.C. to big Shine Bowl win
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - On Saturday at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., we learned two new things about the nation's No. 1 prospect, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney from Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe. First, apparently Clowney doesn't need any practice to be a dominant force in a game. And second, he also doesn't need to be 100-percent healthy. Despite missing all but one practice during the week and playing with a bum shoulder, Clowney showed everyone why he is the top prospect in the country and could be the top high school football player in decades.

Clowney's stat line from a 42-10 South Carolina Sandlapper drubbing of the North Carolina Tar Heel team - 5 tackles (2 solo, 3 assists), 3 sacks for a loss of 15 yards, 2 tackles for a loss of 17 yards and 2 quarterback hurries - doesn't exactly tell the entire story. Of course they are impressive and show his dominance in the game, but he could have been credited with at least a half-sack on two other occasions, he flushed the quarterback two other times that led to sacks and he also drew an amazing five offensive holding penalties. Basically, on nearly every snap he took in the game, Clowney was a factor. However, the 6-foot-6, 247-pounder felt it was just another performance on his part.

Can't we just send Clowney game film of Jesse Williams and say "This guy will be sucking up the OL every play, giving you clear lanes to the QB. The SEC will be like an all you can eat QB buffet."

Not specific to JC but please keep in mind:::::::: CNS is better December-February than he is September-October AND,,, that's pretty dang good!

The thinking in Columbia is that USC has a slight edge, but Gamecock fans are very aware of CNS's "closing" abilities in recruiting and are quite nervous. This one's not over by a long shot.

I don't mind discussing him, but the way some people are drooling over him it's like for a second they forget the USCe leads. I just don't want you guys to get hurt like I got hurt by Keenan. I for one will never love again and I just don't want that for you guys.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that about a recruit....

but if it makes you feel better, we cut the ties with Keenan....as did most everyone.

How has Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix not made you forget about Keenan Allen?

The last I checked, Keenan Allen was under-performing at Cal with much less competition than what we face on a week-to-week basis.
