Re: DE Jadeveon Clowney Updates: He says that SC and Clemson are his top two favorite

Yes, Spurrier will pull the schollie of a kid who isn't putting forth the effort (he has a low tolerance for slackers), but that's not what the post was about. Bama and USC are similar state schools, each with some programs that shine nationally. If a kid puts forth the effort he can get a quality education at either (my Dad has an accounting degree from Bama, I have an engineering degre from USC - we both did okay with our careers).
I guess my point is that there are too many good things about Bama to have to rely on bashing USC to sell the Capstone.

My point exactly with my replies....

We all say how great it is we dont have to resort to negative recruiting, but seem to do nothing but write negative comments on our threads about our sister schools...

In fact, most (i'll caveat that statement, because there are some which do not hold the same standards) SEC schools have great academic programs in place for their student atheletes, have great facilities, and provide a great atmosphere and rabid fan bases which support and love their teams, and schools.

As someone else wrote, a lot of times it basically comes down to wanting to play at home, or moving away. Nothing bad or ominous in either case, just personal choice.

were biased as bama fans, but in reality, so is every other schools fans and alumni...and fact is, everyone really has a great argument for their schools.

To some, playing for the home team, and being that home town hero, is more important than winning another championship for their rival...

I know I'd choose to play for bama given the chance to, even if I knew going in that we wouldnt win a game, rather than play for championships for say, florida.

wouldnt you?
