As expected, Clowney picks USCe

Its not smart for anyone projected in the top 5 of the NFL draft to return....can you really improve your posuition that much, against the possibility of an injury? I knew Julio was gone, and Jeffries will be too...as he should.

But, fans love to dream, dont we?

If you also look at the talent in SC after this year it really drops off at the HS level. As I have said before if they can not start pulling top out of state talent it really will not matter if they get JC.
Not true at all to both comments.

Unfortunately he'll go, but he deserves it.

I'll be glad for this thread to end and JC to make a decision, I'd absolutely love to have the guy in Crimson. However, just because he is the #1 player in HS doesn't mean he will be the best player in college. He will have to put in the work to continue to improve at a high level.

Is it just me, or has one season really gone to a certain fanbase's head? 9-5 seasons put coaches on the hot seat at Bama.

I will be glad when its over too..BUT call me a homer or a drunk on the Crimson kool-aid if you wish, I get this feeling JC will be in Crimson.

I kinda feel like that. A long time ago in a land far far away, we were the leaders. Since then, there have been many that have speculated that USCe then took over the lead... then many speculated we made a push w/ his OV... then many speculated that USCe got the lead after the charm of the OV fizzled a bit.

Maybe its just me, but I think Clowney knows where he is going and he's never struck me as the emotional type that will allow pressure to, well, pressure him. On the other hand, I won't be at all surprised if he goes w/ USCe. As always... JMO.

If the OV to Clemson is still going I've got to like our chances of getting him a little bit more. Not saying we're getting him but the fact that he'll see a different college campus to compare to USCe and UA will help as well as Dabo being a former UA football player and coaching the rival to USCe and clearly not wanting him to go to the rival couldn't hurt our chances. No clue where he goes but I don't think it's a lock by any means

I don't really follow recruiting to heavily, but if JC wants a chance of being picked higher in the NFL he may want to head a little farther South than Columbia,SC.

I give CNS a LOT of credit. He doesn't give up easily and is probably the hardest working coach in football. He does things the right way and wins with hard work. With that said, I've given up on Clowney. I would be shocked, and I do men shocked if CNS could pull off this miracle. Pulling Clowney from SC would be an upset of monumental proportions(think Ali/Foreman) USC(lite) is a good program(not elite, but good) and i think the pressure of staying in state will be too much.

Don't get your hopes up too high cause he will be a gamecock next year.

Ha, wouldn't it be great if Dabo said, "It's OK if you don't choose Clemson, but please don't pick USCe."

The only way this guy is not a top 5 pick no matter where he goes is if he gets injured. Now having said that if he goes to SC he might get as high as the number 2 pick but if he comes to Bama he is locked in to the number one spot.

You can't say that. The draft order depends on who's available and the needs of the team.

TRUE, but most of the time the teams with the first five picks are lacking on D and O. THAT is why it almost guarantees and young man with his talent, if developed even remotely well in college, a top 5 spot.

Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe defensive end Jadeveon Clowney ont he cover of ESPN the Magazine

Just saw where Izzy Gould posted that on Twitter. Nice honor for a kid coming out of high school. Looking around for the cover pic but haven't found it yet.

Funny but insightful analysis from a journalist & buddy of mine on Clowney. Here's what he said:

Watching Jadeveon Clowney footage. The "here he is" arrow is so useless. This is frightening. Clowney looks like Jason, man. Think he's gone? Nope. Just on the way. And he took a shortcut. And he brought an ax. That said, are double teams not allowed in South Cack (South Carolina)? There's one poor kid being embarrassed on each play. We got a copy of his birth certificate? He can't be the same age as these other boys. That's not possible.

Sounds about right.

On one of his vids he chases a running back down from 20 yards away from behind!!! It's crazy!
