Tuscaloosa/Chattanooga
After attending Northridge HS in Tuscaloosa for two years, my mom suggested the idea of going of to boarding school for the final two years of high school. Long story short I decided to go to McCallie School for boys in Chattanooga. Upon arrival of football season, I heard about BJ, who was going to be our starting qb. He had started last year as a sophmore and put up pretty good numbers. It wasn't much of a suprise of who it was once I saw him, 6'4" with hands that are gargantuan compared to mine.(im 6'3"+) McCallie has traditionally run the wing-t offense and qb under center, but with BJ's ability to throw the ball, it had to be changed. Our schedule resembles a UMSW like private school playing other private schools and public ones as well. We faced some of the best prospects from Tennessee this year including Jacques McClendon, Brandon Warren, Dustin Lindsey, Mike Berry, and Lee Smith, among other D-1 signees. His stats this year were as follows, 134 completions on 232 attempts. He threw for 2200 yards and 19tds compared to only 3 ints. The stats aren't amazing, but the offense is still wing-t formation, just out of the shotgun. Combined the team rushed for 2500+ yards so its a very balanced offense.

I have gotten to know B.J., and while at a college seminar on tuesday, he told our college guidance conselor that he wouldn't be able to make the next meeting on March 4th because of going to Tuscaloosa. I knew he was talking about Jr. day and asked him. He seems excited, and hopefully he can get more press because he is a really good qb, but also a really good person. I know that with many other qbs on the board this year, like Kinne, Ross Wilson, and many others, that he might not end up at bama, but look for him in the future.

I am from the Chattanooga area also and I know of this BJ Coleman you are talking about. BJ is D-1 material and once his tape and videos get out and with him going to camps and combines I have no doubt his hype will increase. I attend Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe(GA) we beat McCallie in(2004) the first game of the season and he still threw for over +300yards. And our LFO team was a 11-1 team !

Ditto on BJ -- he's a real talent which is not well publicized. Fatphil is putting all his eggs on Jimmy Clausen and has basically ignored this kid. Being at McCAllie he is a smart kid and should qualify easily. I'm sure CMS and his staff recognize this kid's talent and should be salivating once he appears in Tuscaloosa for Jr days. I would not be surprised for him to get frequent contact and maybe even an offer early on in the process.

Response to Jr. Day

When I saw B.J. this morning, I asked him if he enjoyed Tuscaloosa. He said he absolutely loved it, the tradition, facilities, and the practice. He then told our college guidance counselor that it would be a good fit for a QB right now which I'm not as sure about, but it will be intresting to see how one of my friends and his recruitment by different SEC schools will work out.

do you know if he plans to come to camp this summer? That's where he can make a move for an offer.
