All I can say is WOW!!!!! Everything from the walk of champions to the game day expierence just blew me away. As my brother and I sat in the stadium right before kickoff I asked him why in the heck did we wait 34 years to get down here?? We started planning next years trip walking back to the car ;). I think the best part of the trip though was on the way down we stopped at a Cracker Barrel just outside of Knoxville, all decked out in our Bama shirts and hats. As we were getting seated a older gentleman patted me on the back and real loud he yelled ROLL TIDE!!! Of course we shouted back, about that time the entire restaurant just got quiet and all eyes looked our way, it was great. Anyways I cant wait until next year to get back, and in the mean time ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!

It had been 35 years from graduation until I set foot in BDS again, so it was like a first-time experience for me then, too. (I'd been away because of career and . . . life.) The entire Tide game day experience is so huge now. The stadium is amazing, as are the Walk and the Quad. The only truly recognizeable things were the location of BDS and the students living nearby, most offering parking for $5 while one enterprising group offered beer for $25 with free parking. Some things don't change.

Glad you enjoyed seeing the Crimson Tide on our home turf. And yes, the Vols had been very quiet this year.

Great post, VA!

I'm still waiting for the day when I will be so blessed as to take in the experience.

The closest I came was my 1st ever NCAA / Bowl / Bama game this past Jan 1st.

And I still have goosebumps from that...
