You're right. And it's the same story that we've heard and seen play out for this and many other seasons past.
This is not a shot at CPP, because I know he's doing the best he can with the talent he has available. In fact, I think he's shown more interest tonight in trying to secure a win than I saw in XCMG for some time. But the truth of the matter, as I see it, is that this team has been failing not only because XCMG failed to do his job, but because the team as a whole been failed by the entire coaching staff, including CPP. IMO every member of the coaching staff opted to accept mediocrity from these players rather than coaching up their individual talents and abilities. Therefore all the coaches, both individually and collectively, failed in their own jobs to develop the players into a competitive team.
For this reason, I think it's best that when the new coach is hired, he should in turn be encouraged to clean house and hire all new assistants as well.
JMHO
